  1. Gonna answer my own question... The inner of the connector (built into the unit) is center positive... er go the power supply shall be center negative... Doh!
  2. Hmmm, the Bob the blender .pdf describes reverse polarity protection and a center positive connector. Does this mean the pedal will work with incorrect polarity? I ask because I checked what power supply I received with my VT1 Pro Bass Drive. The previous owner has reversed the polarity, but the power supply indicates center positive? Can anyone advise??
  3. Looks like he winds his own pickups.. Info in the thread here and other links. GLWTS
  4. Nice rig, but would you consider spiltting? Price for each??
  5. And yours is a Japan market bass with 'broadbass BB2000' logo. The export basses had a Yamaha Logo. Here's mine..
  6. Mine is a shade over 4kg, I use a luggage scale. I have to throw some praise here too.. I have whittled my collection down to 7 basses now, and I can see I have 5 basses i can never sell. The quality of these, the playability, the tone ahh.. This is my 'PJ' of choice, and is my desert island bass for sure and the only bass tone complement i ever got..GLWS

  8. I'm really surprised. My first ever 'proper' bass which i still have is feather light? It's in a lock up at the mo' so cant weigh it. If i recollect they are made with some exotic woods? but i could be mistaken
  9. Why? integrity perhaps
  10. I should imagine the guy making them is exposed to the required sample size of all variations. I would take a pro luthier at his word. He is showing the difference tonewoods make to his basses. If there were so much variation between the other factors, i'm sure he wouldn't bother..
  11. I'm no Luthier, so no idea if other factors are at stake, but Sander DeGier did a great tonewood comparison here. There is definitely a difference in tone between these three Soulmates...
  12. I have a Dave Hall VT1 and my local store has Blackstar U250 ACT active cabinet. I wonder if that would be an interesting como? Anyone have any experience with active or powered cabs?
  13. Cool, i have one of these for considerate practice, and find it great also, but have never paired with a pre amp.. i just plug straight in. If i can get away with it though, i do prefer playing headphone free
  14. Learning of so much new stuff in this tread...
  15. Great feed back. Here is a really nice comparison between some of the gear mentioned in the thread. Those Phil Jones sounds amazing, but my god, that AER...
  16. The amptweaker is an awesome fuzz.. needs to be snapped up at this price.. It's thunderous with that low end roll in..
  17. Hi Folks, Some opinions please on good home practice, or home noodling amp set ups with a great tone.. This set up will be purely for the enjoyment and maybe home recording if i finally get round to it. I guess it's vintage leanings where i play P basses with a bit of tone roll off usually, jazz bass, a bunch of vintage basses including a stingray.. Low power, great tone and tubes is what i'm thinking Can't see me going vintage B15 or Trinity trip top.. £££££££ I am looking at the Ashdown CTM 30 with a 15" or maybe an Ampeg PF20t with the matching cab.. Anyone have experience with either these or another suggestion? Cheers Jay
  18. FWIW, it turns out to have been my pedal looper.. Loop No 11 seems to drop the DBs of whatever is plugged into it.. In a different loop it's fine.. Thanks for the input
  19. Haha, good to know, and no, no phase Reversal on the looper? Any idea if it is symptomatic to phasers, or just the MXR 90? its unusable as is which is a pain, i use it a fair bit..
  20. Hi just wondered if anyone has experience with my small issue.. i recently built a sizable pedal board with two power bricks and a Buzz electronics 12 ch looper. I ordered the looper with 4 loops after the pre amp allowing me to run my modulations effects (including the MXR) through the effects loop of the amp.. happy days Since i did this, the MXR phase 90 has lost quite a bit of volume (was always great, if anything giving a little boost before).. Any one have any insight here as to why? Cheers jay
  21. peavey basses are great and always reasonably priced… this is a steel. GLWTS
  22. Not impressed with the Diamond or SDSB then? In the market for a new compressor too, so just curious.
  23. Having never heard of one before, i have to ask the daft question... .... any good on Bass?
  24. Omg, i had the 2 pickup version in that same finish. It is truly mesmerizing. The most beautiful finish I’ve ever seen, and the neck joint is pure art. GLWTS. These are Basses of the highest quality
  25. I can hear the Meters in your bass line. Lovely full thumpy tone there. Good luck with the sale man 👍
