  1. Costs £1.6k, weighs 30kg, is 116cm tall and performs about the same as a 4x10 or a pair of 2x10/2x12 cabs. Kinda get what they're going for RE the visual aspect but surely the whole point of an Ampeg fridge is that it's massive? Having the Spinal Tap Stonehenge version isn't quite the same IMO.
  2. Bought a nice RokSak amp bag, nice guy to deal with!
  3. Used these on my KZ ZS10 IEMs last weekend on a wedding gig, better than both the stock tips and the Spinfit ones I was using, also dirt cheap: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006960679545.html Also grabbed these to convert my aux in to bluetooth, mounts to the back of my amp with magnetic tape (a couple of £ on eBay): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235674913502 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166276877339
  4. I have two, I don't even use amps live! Originally kept hold of my TC BH250 and EA CXL110 (with Basslite) just for playing at home after selling my MarkBass gear and switching to IEMs, however I wanted a more capable cab arrangement for rehearsals and was looking for a suitable 1x10 to add to the mini rig. Then saw a PJB C8 Lite on here and bought it, however the BH250 wasn't really doing the big cab justice at higher volumes so snagged a BH800 as well. That's how I ended up with two rigs I never gig with, may have some dep stuff on the horizon though so I may be using an amp again. I also have a QSC K10.2 which is currently loaned to a mate for his e-drums, so realistically that's 3 rigs. Shameful really.
  5. I think more cabs should have wheels and a trolley handle, I'm a recent convert and although my cab is only ~18kg so a one hand lift it does make schlepping it across car parks etc much easier. More beneficial to me than any of that is being narrow/shallow enough to easily get through doors and up stairs, also having a decent recessed top handle is a massive bonus. For me there's no point saving a couple of kgs if the cab is so bulky you have to hold it away from your body to get through a doorway, you see a lot of focus on overall weight when that's just one factor in how easy it is to carry, albeit probably the most marketable one.
  6. I also liked SD Lightnin' Rods for a fuller, high output J sound, active pickups though so although they can be used without a preamp you will need a 9v battery. Had them in my old fretless and it definitely had more beef.
  7. Bartolini 9J are always a safe bet for deeper voiced J pickups.
  8. Bought a cable off Joel, arrived very quickly and great comms!
  9. Colour doesn't even match either. Not surprising the rest of the band have left the stage in protest.
  10. Bought this a while back when they were on sale for £97, played it for a very sort while then bought an Ibanez Parlor bass which satisfied my micro bass needs. This has been sat in its box on a shelf in my office for a while now so probably time to move it on. Quite a nice little thing, woodwork is surprisingly good and everything is where it should be. Some nice touches on the edges and a cut logo. Condition is pretty much as new and the strings are barely played in, aside from a small chip on one of the bridge string holes all I've done to it is trim the A string (which had way too many wraps) and replace the single rubbish strap button with a pair of better quality ones. Has an undersaddle piezo, preamp (with tuner), easy rear access panel, XLR out and 1/4" out. Also comes in a nice little gigbag which is cheap but not rubbish, definitely enough padding to keep the bass safe and has a roomy (for the size of the bass!) front pocket. The only real bad point is that the 1/4" jack isn't stereo so the battery will slowly drain, I never got round to fixing this as the bass hasn't been used much tbh. The XLR out is switched so it's just the 1/4" that needs modding, the battery is also located on the same plastic cover as the outputs so running a switching wire should be pretty pain free. The battery compartment is very easy to remove and the battery sits in its own little tray so removing it after use only takes a second. I'll supply this with a fresh 9v battery. Still have the original shipping box so can post this at cost although collection from FY5 or local delivery along the Fylde coast is available.

  11. The base price for a regular NYC Custom 21 fret J bass or 24 fret Soapbar is circa $6k anyway, tbh not a massive price hike. Same price difference between the Fender USA Precision and Pino sig really.
  12. Aye was sure it was a 5 I remembered but couldn't find a pic!
  13. The cherry burst Sadowsky Vintage is the one I'd pick
  14. Yeah just noticed the VP bit in the title after I'd posted. I hate bridge/tailpiece arrangements for bass (except the Warwick ones which work properly) even more than the 3 point, there's just no need for 'em!
  15. EDIT just seen it's for the VIntage Pro, disregard!
  16. Hopefully should be getting a refund via eBay after jumping through loads of hoops. Annoyingly they acknowledged I hadn't received the item after showing them the CCTV and forwarding an email from Evri confirming it was "lost" yet required me to go through more CS idiocy with both eBay and Evri (a painful experience) before there was any chance I'd actually get my money back. Not great.
  17. Was probably the one the Evri driver nicked off me!
  18. Great deal on a serious mini rig if you're local: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/477857908245555/ A mate of mine has the Mi10 cab he uses with a Warwick Gnome, decent little speaker.
  19. It's a bit like us buying Harley Bentons on whim, only with Metallica money and a job that entails travelling the world with two guys who are also complusive guitar collectors that visit every music store they can.
  20. He had a period of illness and then the obligatory post-injury painkiller addiction that Americans have but he looks well in the video. I think this is just the tip of his guitar collecting iceberg tbh, basically thinning the herd but everything is crazy rare and valuable!
  21. Very rare prototype for Tony Levin to use with his finger extension things. Think the original one was lost in a fire.
  22. Think it has a BA-TER-RY in the preamp now.
