  1. Okay.. so it seems that whatever the deal BREXIT is for real which most likely will mean that trades between the UK and EU countries will involve import duties & vat and most probably delays in deliveries for the start up time. Generally speaking this means and add-on of about 25%. What will be the effects? Will Basschat continue to be one of the biggest European marketplaces? Will new marketplace initiatives kick off? Will the asking prices of basses go down to compensate, also considering Covid-19? Or will buying/selling between the UK and EU simply become too expensive? Will we more easiliy start buying and selling to other places in the world? What are your thoughts about this?
  2. Wood & Tronics Chronic 5 custom built. European alder body, 3-piece maple neck with quilted satin wood (rare light colored hardwood from Sri Lanka) fretboard, hipshot lollipop tuners, bassculture vintage style alnico pickups and versatile John East SP2 3 band preamp with adjustable mid frequency. Very light (3,6kgs), 34", adjustable +/- 18mm string spacing, great balance and a tone I would describe as a Fender Jazzbass with more fat- and crispyness. And oh yes.. would entertain trades with Alleva Coppolo, Sadowsky 4/5 maple board, Spector neckthrough USA....
  3. Mustafunk1 is a pleasant and honest guy to deal with. Bought a Fender Jazzbass with him and his shipping and communication was clear and with no delay.
  4. Hi Mec, nice MTD535. Would you be interested in a trade with my Sadowsky NYC 5 Daphne blue as advertised here on Basschat? The Sadowsky has 2 additional 'period correct' (old) Bartolini's with 2 x 3 way switch (for each set of pickups). The pickguard is custom made. Othe rthan that the hardware, body and neck are original.

Thanks for your reply. It is an acquired taste I understand.. but a great old NYC player. Good luck with your sale/trade! Willem

  5. Fantastic Marcus Miller tribute bass. Works on other genres too! Built for Fender by Tokay Gakki Japan in 2007/2008. Besides some decent playing wear the bass is in perfect condition. Truss rod works perfect, frets +95%, Sadowsky pre amp ánd pickups (real single coils, but very good shielded: hardly hum). Comes with the original pre amp and pickups (works fine too, can put therm back in, but IMHO the Sadowsky really opens up the bass) and a gig bag. Oh yes.. and the original pickup cover!
  6. Buy with confidence: Zomnius is a great guy to deal with.
  7. Nice one. Spacing 18mm? Weight? OHSC? Thank you!
  8. Great video! 😉
  9. Do you have a demo? What is your lowest price including shipping abroad? 😉 Good luck from The Lowlands outside your catching area!
  10. How about your wife? 😉
  11. Additional thumbrest? Am I overlooking it?
  12. Got one. Liked it. Put a Sadowsky pre in. Now love it!
  13. I should post a clip too... but I am very bad at it.. no good recording facilities, always a bit 'lost' for what to play without some context. But okay, I did a -test-run' and it sounds 'okay' (could be much better though, so plesase use your imagination) and I will share something next days. IMHO the the beautiful black thing has more to offer that what is been demonstrated. I have owned and still own quite a few high end basses, which include custom Fodera, Sadowsky, Ken Smith, Alleva Coppolo, vintage Fenders/Music Man, Spector USA, Xotic, Steinberger, Status etc etc and oh yes: Alembic, but no bass I owned or even even played has such a 'grande' full range presence and smooth playability. The string spacing is quite perfect for many I think, just a bit over 18mm on the low strings and a little less on the high strings: very ergonomic. But that one thing you cannot measure is there in full glory: how it feels and inspires to play. This is a true gem for the connaisseur. Alembic is not for everyone: some hate it, some love it. Everybody will agree it is something special.
  14. Hi! I have not... and I have no great recording set up.... i'm afraid it won't do the bass justice... but I can try something tomorrow
  15. Alembic Europe 5 in beautiful black and fantastic/hardly played condition. Europa electronics: 3 knobs and 3 switches. The knobs are: volume; pickup blend (pan) with center detente; and filter. The switches are: bass cut/flat/boost;treble cut/flat/boost; and Q on/off.
  16. .
  17. It seems the configuration of this old modified bass is quite a bit like some of the newest Sadowsky's...;-)
  18. Thanks Cascanicoff! Both basses are great players. The amber one is a tiny bit more ‘scooped’ whereas the blue one is tiny bit more mid-focused with the outside pickups activated, which is a fair comparison. Maybe I should offer both for sale and see what happens... or I should keep both... anything goes!!
  19. #2145 which indicates it is built in 1995.
  20. It is. I sell it reluctantly.. really.. no sales talk.. I do so just because I have another 'oldie but goldie' which has quite a bit more playing wear etc. so I thought the blue beauty is the better one to offer for sale.
  21. I think it is a player more than a collector... in fact I would never buy a bass just to collect it...
  22. Whatis the scale and stringspacing?
  23. So, if you want EMG's changing pickups is quite easy.
