In 1964 The Beatles sang 'Money can't buy me love'. How wrong could they be.... 😉 Excellent Fender Jazz Bass Custom Shop '64: plays like butter sounds like a Jazz Bass from '64 should. Quite light (3800 grams on my kitchenscale) and well balanced. Comes with original case and candy. Hardly played, fantastic condition. Check around: this is about the best price you can find for this bass in this condition.

Fantastic Yamaha BB2000 built in Japan in 1982. The time when they killed Fenders like Eurovision kills music. Everything works perfect, immaculate condition, just a few scratches at the bottom of the body. Including OHSC in great condition too. These basses tend to be quite heavy, this one is relatively light with 4300 grams on my kitchen scale, and even more important: very well balanced. The Yamaha BB2000 was the main bass in the eighties for players like Tetsuo Sakurai (Casiopea) and Michael Anthony (Van Halen) which shows the versatility apart from the great playability, built quality and sound as such. A BB2000 is quite a different beast than the more common BB1000 or BB300/BB400 and certainly a different class than the BB’s built outside Japan like Taiwan etc. It’s hard to explain but compared with a BB1000 the P-sound is fuller/tighter, the J- bridge sound is more like a fantastic JB but with a very nice addictive punchy charachter, the PJ sound is much more like a fat JB than a PJ. This bass could be a collectors item considering the condition and relative rareness. It won’t lose value! For the ones are who are unfamiliar with these old BB-series: the BB2000 is nothing like Yamaha has been or is making, no offense, because Yamaha builds good and solid instruments. I have too many great basses so I got to sell which means killing darlings... or should I say geisha’s?

This Tino has quite a few 'extra's' which makes sense since this exact bass was used for demonstration purposes. Light chambered alder body, vintage white nitro finish, nice Madagascar fretboard, well balanced, graphite reïnforced neck, mother of pearl inlays, hip shot ultra light tuners, Aguilar single coils with OBP-1 pre amp, passive tone control, low action etc. Weight 3,8 kg (kitchenscale). Width of the nut 4,8 cms String spacing at the bridge is 19 mm (I believe all Tino's have a) scale of 34,5" Comes with a generic gig bag (good condition) Frets are like new. No visible/noticeable wear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9aXmB6Ks-8 (This is the exact bass, not just a similar one) Trades considered (Ken Smith 6 string, Fender P '70, Sadowsky P/J maple fretboard, Jaydee, Ashley Pangborn, Alleva Coppolo, ..)

Great early Fodera NYC (1996). Plays like butter and sounds clear as maple can with a strikingly smoothness and warm full organic bass. Fully original with Lane Poor pick ups and D-tuner. Low action, no fret buzz, truss rod and electronics are working perfectly. Optically there are two spots: at the side some playing wear and a crack in the finish around the controlling area. Nothing that influences sound or playability. This bass has that Fodera vibe, whatever that is: it is a 100% Fodera. Other than the later NYC’s this very early NYC was built entirely by Fodera in New York. Open for trades (Sadowsky, Alleva Coppolo, WAL, Fender 70’s maple Precision, Pangbourne, Ampeg SVT3 Pro, Sadowsky SA200...)

Now selling for £2750!! This bass was 100% built by Fodera in New York with these unusual pickup combination. However, you can clearly derive from the woodworks if the body that there cannot have been a J-pick up in it and the electronics have a blend pot, so there must have been another pick up when the bass was built. I checked with Fodera and they confirm the Brazilian board but have no record of the pickups unfortunately. However, originally the bass was fretless. That is why you see masked dots in the wrong place. Specs: Alder body Sunburst Thick Brazilian DN board Golden hardware 19mm spacing 34" 4300 grams Comes with original padded Fodera bag Well balanced, fast straight neck, perfectly working truss rod, low action no fret buzz in any position. Great tonal versatility: can sound like a sweet fat P bass but also like a crispy Music Man though never 'harsh'. With both pick ups on the bass has a fat, tight sound that is close to a 'normal' PJ. The bass shows playing wear (ofcourse!) but nothing serious. I'd say: vintage! Note: this is not a NYC or Standard series (which are also great) but the real deal from what is considered to be the golden era of Fodera.

Selling my beautiful W6TNVE with OHSC. 'W' means 19mm string spacing. Just like most 4 and 5 basses. Noteworthy is the quite rare forward position of the pickups providing a 100% tight and twinkly Smith sound but fatter, bassier, better blending while nevertheless outstanding. Also, the pickup wiring has been adjusted so you can toggle between the typical humbucking or surprisingly clear/open single coil per pickup. Very versatile! And then in the back you’ll find the dip switches for even more possibilities. Rest asdured: all electronics are 100% original and functional! This bass can sound like anything you like! The bass shows some playing wear, especially at the right hand thumb position, but nothing serious and it plays, sounds and looks awesome. The neck is as straight as you want it, the action is crazy low if you will. This bass plays exveotionally comfortable. Ken's streetprice new $8000. Asking €4000. Apart grom a straight I might be interested in a trade involving Fodera, Sadowsky, Alleva Coppolo or vintage Fenders. The bass and myself are in The Netherlands.
