  1. Jason’s a great bassist. Metallica hit on a style at the right time and it went nuts, they stick to the formula, and why not?! I remember my mates going to the snake pit tour when we were at school and declared Metallica the greatest band ever. A few weeks later I persuaded them to come with me to Alice In Chains in the Dirt and Facelift albums era - they dropped Metallica like a hot potato. Trujillo is supremely talented, apparently when he got the gig an instant cool million dollars went into his account - good on him, he deserves it, Infectious grooves was a very cool band. He kept this talent asleep till he was firmly on the mix, and does make the others look a little stodgy.....
  2. Or KMA audio machines The Tyler
  3. Yep Bass I got a while ago with them on got them moved off very quickly for the same reason
  4. Solid excellent choices From the above 2 chaps
  5. Sandberg shop online has em, think there is one on reverb too selling them. Depends if you want generic or sandberg ones - generics you’ll just have to measure the shaft sizes and you’ll get them from most parts places, probably even Amazon
  6. Brown......
  7. DR’s are just about the best out there
  8. Agree with most things, but not every distortion does - some have a cross over keeping the low end, but what you say holds water and finding a pedal that blends clean in, or one that keeps it
  9. Fuzz can do that - keep as much clean low end as possible and blend the fuzz on top if you are mixed with other instruments-if you are solo - be as fuzzy as you want. Clean low end can be achieved depending on the pedal or splitting your signal
  10. I don’t mind - you are a good lad - was minimal fuss 👊🏾 at least you held onto that bass for a while.....
  11. Or getting me to do your dirty work again....
  12. No worries 👌🏾🤘🏾👊🏾
  13. For me I like the jazz tip Dava picks because of the rubber grip, doesn’t slip out. If you want you can flip it and use the rubber surface to hit the strings and you get more into Motown territory
  14. Happy to send him a message with your email/phone number if you want and you can take it from there
  15. Hope this helps
  16. There is a Steinberger L2 on FB selling groups up in Leeds I think if anyone is interested
  17. You’ll sound ace no matter what you use - hope they work out
  18. Dava picks are awesome
  19. Yep the New Hartke TX8500 has a compressor. tech21 dUg Ultrabass 1000 Has one Without derailing and getting into massive battles I always thought tubes are not actually technically compressors one the truest sense of what compression is
  20. I can’t add much more except to say, great post and yes my Status Stealth with the 303 preamp and monorails is the nuts
  21. No worries - basically I had them on my Status Stealth Bass when it came from the previous owner, nice on the finger, fine windings and a light gauge - did have some bite to them on over drive - I changed them out to my usual Rounds (DR Hi Beam) defo more nite and you got more overdrive out of them. It’s not that the TI are bad, but they Bridge that gap between flats and aggressive rounds
  22. Those TI jazz rounds are not harsh rounds if you get my drift and are probably between the 2 of rounds and flats
  23. Thomastik Infeld jazz rounds may fit the bill
  24. I got that, but tried to cover both angles saying that you can get a great finish with a can too
  25. If you want it to relic back, surely you don’t want a very pro finish on it, is it not better to spend £10-20 On a ratttle cam from Dartfords? You can still achieve a high quality finish with these if you want
