  1. I’ll let you off slapping, just this once
  2. I get you on that and was doing that. It’s still not Lickety split - jump a bank of ten - take care not to kiss your bank or go all the way around, press and hold, get preset between 1-10, release and lock - it’s not intuitive no matter how good it sounds in the flesh as we both have said Midi makes it easier. This is a practical thing and I would have no qualms about PC editing etc. Its not denigrating the pedal, but it is a faff, and to my ears in a comparison test and in its own right, The Stomp has very useable synth sounds which would make the majority of people happy both player and audience, IMHO especially for those that don’t want to faff too much and have an all in one package.
  3. It was by no means a deep dive but merely scrolling between and activating presets and sounds was an absolute ballache and put me right off. That sort of useability is what I am in about

  5. Now now, that was a mistake, it wasn’t meant for you, you got in the crossfire, and overreacted, really you should have been chuffed I could have meant it for you
  6. Dunno about you but I always have a very good reason and point when I wave my willy
  7. So ..........compared the Stomp, Future Impact and Eventide H9 synth sounds. Yes the FI has a fantastic engine but usability on the fly is pants without Midi, and the box looks cheap for the price you pay. Yes the Eventide is a beautiful piece of kit, well constructed with great sounds, not quite the tweakability of the FI and it’s parameters, you have an engine and sound, then you deal with it, great tracking. Stomp - some of the presets are really quite good and perfectly useable for the majority of people that own this box and what they are using it for who want a bit of squelch in a sound, and no doubt it will get better.
  8. We’ve all done it Glad it’s cool
  9. Fingers crossed
  10. DP3X is the holy grail of pedals. I will be buried with mine
  11. How good is the PA? If it’s not meant to really handle bass and only vocals in a practice room/studio, it will sound utter crap no matter what Preamp you use. I will give a big thumbs up to the other 2 you mentioned though
  12. I’m happy to share a joint endorsement with @Wolverinebass
  13. Incorrect - what @Osiris is saying is that before making definitive statements he likes to appropriately critique the value of something against that what it is being compared to with audio samples to make a direct comparison, rather than just say Mr X, Y or Z says this is the case so it is. It appears he has done this extensively with compression as this is an effect he uses and this applied his theory extensively, and for the decent reasons listed, there is little point sharing settings. He has done this to an extent with envelopes on the stomp to educate himself about his equipment, but as it’s not used by him currently to any great degree.
  14. I am a massive dUg fan, but this is an example of how it can and cannot work for people. Personally, I haven’t found the same thing happen as @attackbass I have been able to get enough dynamics out of it, but we all play differently (not saying I am better btw!), different basses etc. It can stack really nicely with another pedal as well to combine tones, or give versatility at just a click to have the 2 tones described above, as inherently, as described it is a pedal producing a clean low end and a distorted high end, although you can clean it up, so it is possible this can happen. I have to say with any pedal, but especially the DP3X, the tone knob on your bass is your friend, it doesn’t just have to be wide open or closed, there will be a sweet spot to help the pedal.
  15. Leave
  16. I knew that....👊🏾
  17. As in not taking any, or transferring information?
  18. Agreed Core stability is oft overlooked, planks, balance exercises, postural exercises, body weight exercises - all can be done at home and will help
  19. Look forward to hearing that, as I think it’s a stellar bit of kit
  20. I know where you are coming from on this, but I take slight exception. Firstly You have people’s natural frames endomorph vs ectomorph as well as stature to consider, Gary Coleman is never having a 5kg bass in all likelihood. Yes you can get stronger doing weights, but people may have pre existing injuries, conditions etc which you can’t throw weights at (but you hint at that). Also what is probably more important are core stability exercises rather than pure weights, which often require the use of no weights at all, it has to be tempered a little...
  21. A massive lesson in despite having all the skills in the world, doing what the song needs, just groove and feel
  22. Cameron is the size of 8 people and I am the weight of at least that
  23. Aside from any 10” or 12” iteration of Barefaced and small head of choice like an Elf, Quilter Bass Block, Genzler Mag 350 (how good they all are for guitar - I dunno). Combo Like Tech21 VT200 or Tech21 Power Deuce Deluxe - which is by all means relatively neutral (not sterile) and voiced for guitar or bass. She has the options of 1 or more fly rigs as pre-amps for her instruments (they do acoustic guitar and bass versions). Other Preamp examples like Trickfish Trilobite where you have 2 EQ channels - so could theoretically set and leave each channel for each instrument. Quite a few options out there
  24. I know we don’t like all soundmen, but even that’s a bit harsh.....
  25. I like the fairy lights at the back
