1. Also on eBay, so open to offers to save the fees!
2.
Can't see the photos on my phone, but is this a natural from GAK?
Thats right.
3.
Very nice! Where did you get it from?
GAK in Brighton via eBay.
4. First Gibson since I sold my EB2D more years ago than I care to remember!
5. I know ther's not a lot of love for Gibson basses here as there is a preference for 50's designs from Fullerton ! However arrived today is this Gibson EB 5 string, brand new but the 2013 model and a price lower than some Far Eastern made basses. Straight out the box and really super cream lined hard case, nicely set up and nothing to do but tune it! Natural body with the tortoiseshell pick guard looks good IMHO and perhaps retro. Gibson say it draws on the EBO (SG) bass, and I've read others think it nods towards the Mosrite. Hangs well on the strap and weighs only 3.4kg. (A lightweight was a key requirement since trading my 5 string Fender Jazz on here a couple of years ago which was just too heavy). Set neck, Grover tuners, Babicz bridge - it feels quality and the pickups sound good and are balanced across all the strings, plus pull pots change them to single coils which have a definite J bass sound. You can get a good growl out it as well as a traditional thump. Quite a variety for a passive bass. I think this will be a fun instrument.
6. Peerless Smoke or their Cassidy lookalike.
7. If this list is the full extent of basses for next year, then there will be greater choice of finish in left hand versions of the EB 4 & 5 then right hand versions.
8. I wonder how long it will be before Adrian gets a call from nasty G's lawyers?
9. Thanks Desmondpot. I really like it too, I hope to replace it with a Rebop 5 of which there are a couple for sale at present, unless someone offers me an irresistible deal for another type of 5. Open to suggestions.
10. Spector Rebop 4Dlx for sale only as I have now bought a 5 string so no longer interested in trades. Believed to be made in 2005, great lightweight curved NS designed body in dark cherry red, striped maple quilt top, crown inlays on fretboard and EMG pickups, Spector tone pump. Tuning keys have been replaced by Hipshot Ultralites. Small scratch mark on lower bout otherwise pretty good condition. Weighs in at a lovely light 3.5kg! Comes with a generic ABS hard case. Can post at cost ( think this will be around £30) or come and collect from Weymouth, Dorset or would be prepared to meet up at a reasonable distance.
11.
Light..... My natural finish IV weighs 7lb exactly.
. If this is all they weigh , I think Gibson are really missing a trick here not quoting it in their specs. There are a lot of bass players out there with back and shoulder problems looking for a lighter weight bass. You just have to look at the number of times that question is asked of Basschatters selling gear. No doubt the problems are brought on by playing heavy basses like Fenders and lugging outsized speaker cabinets around to gigs.
12. Maybe the price is due to the dreadful state of the pound?
13. When I suggested La Bellas, I was referring to no silk at the bridge end. They do have silks at the head end.

15. Why not buy those rubber cable trunk things people put down when a mains cable is running from a wall plug out to equipment in a room, often seen at conferences?
16. You'd never find this on a darkened stage😆
17. Nicely understated. There isn't anything on Ms website other than in History. Got more info such as woods, weight, controls.
18. Is this a satin or gloss finish, the photos are a bit ambiguous? PM'd re postage.
