  2. Dear me, you'd need a damned good guitar to use that.
  3. I've held it up to a rosewood fingerboard I have here and it seems paler to be honest. Not by far - but still, even better if you can see the lines but someone 6 feet away can't!
  4. I have a load of mahogany veneer somewhere you're welcome to. Quite thin, I don't remember the exact thickness at the minute - but I would say it is about as wide as a fret-gap, if not you could double up I guess.
  5. Back up for grabs - first to PM me gets it next
  6. *laughs* Keyboard all covered in bourbon
  7. Hmm - not filling the gaps is bound to throw the feel off a little, and may not allow for perfectly smooth slides... If you find yourself getting on well with the fretless playing, I'd suggest going back and finishing the fingerboard off properly. On the plus side - nice to see someone new turning over to the dark side!
  8. What materials are you wanting it made out of? Wood/Carbon/Plastic?
  9. *ahem* But really - by Drop B tuning do you mean BEAD? If so then the lower 4 strings in a 5 string set will be fine on a 34" scale, as the strings will almost certainly have been designed for that scale anyway.
  10. I love Tony & Billy... Where is this?
  11. Hi Jim, I can't really help with the first issue - but the MAG series is solid state, no valves involved. The VU meter at the front is really just to show the input level of the bass into the preamp, and the red section is there to illustrate when the signal is too high for the preamp to cope without distortion When you say the light gets dimmer - is the sound affected? I can't see any reason why the power of the light on the VU meter should be in any way connected to the input or output of the amp, as it is just that - a light.

  13. Hmm, an interesting idea. It would, however, cost me a fortune in postage to send each item to someone new every month. Any suggestions?
  14. I'm going to stick a few books/DVDs into the 'BassChat Library' to let them do the rounds. Please Re-Post these after one month to let everyone get a fair share! Not all bass-related, but musical atleast. [s]Great Musician Series - 'Jaco Pastorius' [/s] Led Zeppelin III & IV Ozzy - Unauthorised Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same (DVD) Just to see how things go, I'll keep it at that for now - if things don't go walkies then I've more to follow Regards.
  15. *pops head up* Just to make sure my possible/probabal solution was noticed among that bout of spanking.
