  1. I will give it a go too, I probably opt for the mid thickness panels. Would triangle shaped panels work. Like toblerone shape in the corners of the wall @Skol303 behind the work/ mixing desk?
  2. I think it's time to get serious and read this thread again along with below thread to get a better understanding of this complex subject. My room is ready but currently empty as it needs decorating. The reverb is similar to spring reverb at the moment.
  3. I was only kidding, but very well done for Death if Glory!
  4. Can you do The Trooper or Run to the Hills?

  8. Mine (free version) works fine. Have you tried uninstal then re install. Not sure if it's still on free download offer.
  9. I've downloaded the free Bias FX this week and it works fine. Have you rescanned vst in properties in Ableton?

  11. I won't be able to enter til tomorrow? Listen to Prelude 2020 by ThEddie on #SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/user-527099495/prelude-master
  12. Mac can be expensive, laptop with windows 10 will work fine minimum 8gb RAM. Gaming laptops are better options. You'll be left with hundreds to spend on other essential gadgets, like studio speakers etc.
  13. My first interface was focusrite 2i2 first gen. I sold it now ☹️ it was running off the USB power and it was brilliant. My 18i8 out is better as has improved guitar recording software, but needs main power. Anyway, if I ever needed something small I'd choose 2i2 out, never a solo, why? One mic on amp and one di. Or one di, and one mic for vocals etc. Simple and effective. I can't comment on other brands, but if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it!
  14. Cold down here too but when the sun comes out it's warmer, late afternoons are getting warmer I miss snow though
  15. The birds singing, black robin rustling in the leaves, wind in the trees, and bushes, occasional bumble bee and fly buzz whilst absorbing the warmth of the sun rays.
  16. I worked in a music shop in early 90s. It was a very versatile shop, and on the shop floor we had the biggest tuba bass I ever saw. I dared every friend that came in to have a go. I went to the guitarguitar shop to buy an amp. I took my own bass with me and started playing bulls on parade intro RATM. When I stopped playing, the shop assistant walked passed and continued mimicking the whammy guitar riff with his voice with perfect timing.
  17. We played an indoor gig , about four different bands back in the days. It was pure heavy metal in the late 80s. Some drunk punters got in the venue, and began asking for folk music. Our singer said that we don't know any but the next band, headliner would play some.
  18. I have suffered with this issue for 4 years. Constant buzz, humming. I've tried hum canceling pedals, shielded my guitars , watched endless you tube videos with no results. I thought it was the electric circuit in house hold. Last year I bought a new gaming laptop, problem solved. It went from an irritating hum and buzz to a complete silence the moment I set up the new laptop. Occasionally I get the odd natural feedback or hum, which can be solved by turning away from the amp etc. The high gain can be solved with a noise gate ( within the VST). As for the bass, it's dead silent when not played. I achieved brilliant result recording a bass through XLR from bass amp into a di box, in this case the first Hartke version then into focusrite 2i2. Or just DI into focusrite. Hope this helps

  20. Top genre is metal and variety of music , anything but Oasis
  21. Drum Kit
  22. I am predominantly a metal fan, but growing up in 80' s when the pop was booming Tears for Fears is one of the many other bands I don't mind. The structural layout of the instruments and vocals in their songs is fenomenal. You can clearly hear various dimensions of the mix. Just listen to woman in chains on headphones. That fretless bass is mind-blowing.
  23. Thanks for BC for finding my dream bass and improving mixing my songs.
