  1. The album was apparently locked in the vault
  2. Ok so he made a joke...like he does
  3. The whole album was recorded 2 years ago in Paris ....I don't get the Nicko part
  4. Bruce's first solo album was also a bit folky. Was that Writing on the Wall you're referring to?
  5. The answer is no IMHO. But I grew up on the old 80s style.
  6. I know what you mean.....but now listening to it on a set of speakers rather than on my portable DAB radio it's not that bad. Listening to it again. Some great songs and mixture of styles from various Maiden albums. One song in particular, had about 4 different Maiden album riffs/sound spanning over 20 years in. I will post which one later. The acoustic bass sound is just killer. I even hear guitar tone from Seventh Son album. The overall sound and production is one of the best Maiden material. The drums and cymbals in particular sound is amazing. The acoustic guitars is very subtle. I don't know if it's my headphones or speakers or meant to be sitting in the certain song parts/mix, but the bass in some parts jumps out at you and the keys sound a bit too high pitched every now and again. Could be my ears.
  7. So Bruce sang in Samsons before Maiden opened for UFO. Steve had visions
  8. Unfortunately at work but listened to planet rock at 6 with Bruce. Can't wait to go home and listen to the album with headphones on.
  9. Waiting for the Senjutsu CD to arrive, hopefully before I'm off to work.
  10. Today , I cut a 4 inch port hole in bass reso head. A new tin of paint was a perfect size with a heavy vice on top of it. I followed it around with a sharp Stanley knife and the cut was perfect. Time to experiment with recording...
  11. I thought it sounded rather simple. 😁
  12. Spot the difference...
  13. Very poor impression or attempt of crazy drummer. Has been done....next...
  14. I have the same difficulties, join a band. There was one before the lock down, but the guitarist/founder was over aspirational. He arranged a rehearsal then pulled out the joining his old band. So... fast forward two years...nothing
  15. I presume for Maiden? Seventh son.....tour
  16. Voted , good job everyone again! 👍
  17. I thought the first was the original then I noticed the text between. First one is definitely better sounding with more clarity. Although to my ears it sounds in a mid range frequency.
  18. I use camera mic then sync it with the mix as my camera is now 15 year old. I'd keep it simple.
  19. I've picked up a 90's Korean build Epiphone Gold top for a good price. I cannot fault it. The quality and playability is superb.
  20. I agree with you and maybe that's the same reason I couldn't play in a band because I'm a human being not a metronome. Next time I enter composition challenge on BC I'll post the bass track separately to get less brownie points. In my teens and early 20s all I needed was long hair, loud amp, cool bass and being able to play galloping finger style and I was in. Unless a pub punter is one of us, general public goes to watch live band to have fun. I went to see Testament 3 years ago or so, the bass wasn't very impressive, he had technical issues and made it so obvious. Did anyone else noticed, maybe...but maybe 99% of the audience was head banging and moshing.
  21. Maybe they didn't record with click tracks in those days?
  22. I love isolated bass tracks. After all it's a bass line and in most cases it proves it doesn't need to be complicated or have copious amount of pedals used. Surely there are lots of amateiur players around who would not be happy recording these "sloppy" tracks, but what's the point if the final product matters.
  23. If I do , it's TC spectracomp.
  24. Nothing else matters Metallica
