  1. Don't sell it, you'll regret it. Believe me.
  2. Question is : do you still have hair and an ugly green suit ? Answer : you could be in a r'n'b tribute band !
  3. Had a similar one with all maple neck and (changed) Nordstrand single coils. Simply the best 5 strings bass you could own. Too bad it was missing a string for me. GLWYS.
  4. I'll recommend a well waxed long neck, at least 36 inches or it won't do the job. Or maybe a fretless stick for the sliding sequences. 😁
  5. Not sure, Gene Simmons knows the name of the notes he is playing and doesn't have such an awful sound. And this guy (not Gene) who simply can't play, doesn't know a thing about music and certainly nothing about composition is earning millions of dollars. Is it me or is there something really wrong with the "rock" music ?
  6. ?!? 🤨
  7. Just for the record, Đàn tứ dây simply means 4 strings (wires, in fact) and the headstock shape is also simply traditional for this instrument whatever body shape.
  8. If it's Đàn tứ dây, no need to do it tomorrow. I'll get my coat...
  9. The one and only strap I still use is the good old Gerald Reese Slapstrap which is 3.75 inches wide. Have it for at least 10 years, but now I'm playing sitted most of the time without any strap... But when one is needed, I use this old buddy. The only thing I don't like about it is its colour : stupid black leather.
  10. Good luck to find the maker as quite all instruments are home made in these regions...
  11. Chris (cleverly ) got rid of a combo, a head, a cabinet and some decent money to get my rare Leduc PAD 6. I can tell that his packagings are terrific as well as his communication. A totally smooth transaction. You can deal in total confidence. Bye bye 'til the next time.
  12. Traded basses with Jean-Jacques. Everything was OK.
  13. Traded my Ernie Ball MusicMan StingRay 5 fretless from the golden years (1992) for Sam's LowDown Custom 6 SF Special. A really smooth and easy transaction and a very very very well packed bass. The bass arrived lightning fast and I'm delighted by the instrument. Sam is very communicative even if he was very busy at the moment. You can deal in total confidence with Sam, there won't be a single glitch. Bye bye 'til the next time. 👍
  14. Urm, urm, I don't think these strings are intended for double double bass or EUB...
  15. Can't agree more as this was mine before. A real terrific bass, more versatile than you think and with its own personality.
  16. No problem. The fact is that I know this very bass and that it has that Ken Smith sound we are looking for. And it's the Chuck Rainey (CR) model. GLWYS.
  17. From Nevers ?
  18. Didn't you buy it from a guy named Ivan C. in Uccle (Ukkel) ?
  19. Nordstrand NJ4 70's for the fast response and 60's for the pronounced mid range. That said, it depends if you like single coil sound or humbucker sound or stacked humbucker sound or in-line humbucker sound or side-by-side humbucker sound. Check this as you have a short description of lots of Jazz Bass pickups : https://www.bestbassgear.com/bass-pickups/shopby/jazz_bass/4_string.htm?dir=asc&limit=all&order=price
  20. Thanks for the advice, but as a 6 strings bass player and mostly fretless, it's missing a string. That said a trade for a JP BASSES 6 (fretless) would be the perfect solution, or one of yours, Alan, of course.
  21. Hi Alan, Thanks for your kind reply, but there was no offence at all in what I wrote, I just wanted to get the time line right. Thanks for your words as they do it better then mine. That said, I've owned one of your bass and really liked it especially the EQ01 (when properly understood). And I still love your 0157Ü, which is a true masterpiece : http://archive.acguitars.co.uk/portfolio/0157u-uber-art-recurve-4/ Keep on making great instruments in your beautiful landscapes place. 👍
  22. It's written in the description : handcrafted for firewood.
