  1. It was so obvious that I think we all forgot that one... Thanks for the reminder. 👍🏻👌🏻
  2. My question might sound weird, but is the main portion of the cake going to Adam Clayton? Or is it a full charity sale?
  3. Beware that the album called The Stanley Clarke Band (on the right) is often referred on the Internet as him playing acoustic double bass, but he's only playing electric bass on this one. The only one where he's playing acoustic double bass is Jazz in the Garden (on the left). That said both albums are worth listening to.
  4. I've heard that Ice-T is going to join the party...
  5. Saw him live with Jean-Luc Ponty and Al di Meola in an a fully acoustic gig, so Stanley Clarke on double bass all concert long, something like 30 years ago, and it ended up with speed race on School Days. Amazing how fast he coud play this tune on double bass ... using the chords for the main riff.
  6. Yeah, I forgot this excellent album, I'll listen to it later, after the 3 CDs I've just received...
  7. Excellent strings choice for a fretted Le Fay!
  8. If it's a fretless, I quite loved the Dogal Hellborg round wound ones, but they are beyond expensive, that's what I ended up putting on my Remington Steele. The Dobbratz brothers put Ernie Ball Slinky on all their basses and on fretted basses, they do marvels, and are a very good option for fretless too. I wouldn't recommend Elixirs on such luthier instruments as you'd be missing a lot of harmonics and upper mids, which will make your bass sound a bit dull compared to regular strings. If you like them, the Rotosound RS66 strings, after a few days/weeks, sound quite nice and even. DR nickels (pick up your favourites) are really great too, but if you prefer stainless steel (again pick up your favourites), they are great too.
  9. You are always welcome, Brian. 😊
  10. I only left once, because I was tired to rehearse and play every week as I already had a full time job, so not for another band, but for peace of mind.
  11. Wooden wood coming from trees.
  12. This is my favourite photo of him!
  13. My personal bass hero. I didn't come to 6 strings bass in the late 90's thanks to him, but Alain Caron, so from the fretless side, but discovered a bit later that Anthony Jackson was the bass player on so many records I liked, so I also started to play a bit of fretted bass and had to have a single cut AJ6 model. I really love his bass approach with Michel Camilo and the trio he formed with Michel Petrucciani and Steve Gadd was simply amazing. I've been listening to Trio in Tokyo in repeat mode since I read this very sad news. I'll switch to the filmed Live in Marciac concert with Hiromi and Simon Phillips tonight, another fantastic musical masterpiece. His bass lines are so inventive, complex without being complicated and dedicated to music that is really extraordinary to have this level of musical knowledge always serving the music and never his ego. A true genius has gone forever. Rest in peace, Anthony.
  14. Maybe they checked if it wasn't pure gold or if there was something illegal hidden underneath and put them back in a hurry? 🤔🤦🏻🥱😂
  15. I think the OP got there, because the owner pretends they are the biggest Custom Shop in Europe. Strangely, their non Custom Shop models are pristine, I had a few, and there's nothing to complain about... Go figure.
  16. Because the word status belongs to the 4th declension, but also because oral language came first so grammar is linked to it, and the rules derive from the oral language to integrate the written language to "lock" it. In fact, the genitive form is statūs, which is different in pronunciation of status, so again a strong link to the oral language. I didn't create the Latin grammar, so it's the only explanation you'll get (from me), furthermore like in any language, there are exceptions...
  17. Because of its genitive form.
  18. Hélas, they are both dead now, but I still can prosecute their children ... isn't it.
  19. Makes me want to go back to Latin now... 🤔🤦🏻😂
  20. And even if you were using the word status instead of the name, it belongs to the fourth declension, so nominative plural is still status and statii still doesn't exist in this declension. 😉
