1. A blinder of a gig (Friday night) at the Winchester Gate, Salisbury. Good crowd and a great reaction. It gave me the chance to try out Clarky's white Precision which had arrived the previous day. What an absolute stonker of a bass - a complete joy to play. The evening went a bit weird for the last half hour when a classic topless cider-fuelled drunk decided to join us on stage - he was basically harmless and genuinely enjoying himself but when he decided to join in on the vocals I had to step in and have a quiet but forthright word. The venue's well worth a look into if your after a gig in the area. Robb, who puts the bands on and does the sound is a top bloke and, unusually for Salisbury, knows what he's doing.
 2. A really, really good bloke to deal with. Bought his Olympic White Precision which is absolute perfection. A superb, smooth transaction, the only disappointment being that I couldn't find time to get over to London to meet up with him. Being the top bloke that he is he organised the postage to coincide with the day I was at home. Here's to the next deal, cheers Clarky
Lovely bass, and errr quality thread - thanks for posting! Why don't you stick it back on eBay where it'll find it's correct value - which'll at a guess will be somewhere roughly around exactly what you paid for it?! Pluck
My pleasure. Does eBay really find the correct value? I'm genuinely curious as I've never sold anything on there. El Deaver
 4.
I had one of these. Happy days. No screw that, very happy days. I loved that Ibanez. P
The woman in the photo seems less than convinced. Love the bass, love Nancy's top
 5.
Hopefully they'll be "dialling-in" a "passable Nate Watts impersonation".
I can give you my number if you want me to do it
 6. Nice kit. And welcome aboard
 7.
really likin that,is it active?its a really nice shape and looks great build quality, german you say mmmm.
Passive this one. 'German' refers to the contouring of the body - I'll try and get a photo to show this properly. This one will be up for grabs in a day or two as well.

 10.
That looks fantastic! Congratulations on picking up something a little different from the usual....
Cheers. It's definitely something different, I'll try and get some more photos up soon. The credit really has to go to Bassassin for finding this though, it just happened to be near enough to me to collect. I don't know how long I'll hold on to it, hopefully they'll be a bass bash to bring it to soon - it's well worth a look.
 11.
...no disrespect but only us stuff please...
Essex meets Geordie. I'd been trying to figure out what it was about GP's syntax I couldn't quite get but I think I've nailed it now. Back on topic, I'd offer £1100 cash, you make a decent profit and don't have to deal with any more stress. Everyone's a winner.
 12. Recent ebay purchase after a tip off from Bassassin. El Maya EB-2200. Through neck, brass hardware including nut and an object of some beauty. Black binding on neck and body which has taken some bumps and bruises over the years. The bridge is routed into the body which at first I thought was a mod but I now think is original as the body is contoured ('german' carving). A weighty devil at just over 10lbs and not the best balanced of basses, the two rear straplocks go a little way to countering this. The front straplock has been moved to the back of the neck - it has come off the top horn at some point. I'm barely qualified to tell you about sound but this packs a fair old punch for sure. More photos on request for interested parties, I'm afraid the crappy Canon camera doesn't really do this justice.

 15.
Looks like Deaver is on his way anyway
Timetable and reality check shows that I'm going to have to stay in the South West this weekend. Our guitarists mother-in-law lives out that way - can't see that plan working out somehow
 16.
Hi mate, it can be arranged
Buy two the third ones free? I'll send something sensible when no longer under the influence of cheap red wine. Deaver Junior would love me to have this bass.
 17. Oh dear not another Beedster tempter...you heading over to Fareham again anytime soon?
 18.
Cheers for that, lovely bass, I really like that black body binding - is it on the fretboard too? Looking forward to seeing more pics. J.
Indeed it is
 19.
Cool - looking forward to seeing some nice pics! Still can't find any specific info about the bass but here's another g*it*r - this one almost looks like the 6-string sibling of yours, with the German carve & black binding: http://www.wietsesguitars.nl/pagina102.html J.
Thanks Jon. A couple of taster pics for you to mull on. I'll try and sort something better at the weekend. Remarkable piece of work this bass
 20. And this tasty little Prosebass fretless number, whilst we're including other makes:
