1.
Problem with Nathan East, or his choice of kit?

I wonder if Prince Harry has a friendly nickname for Nathan East. I love Nathan East's playing and his signature bass is awesome. I'm not too big a fan of the bridge pieces though. I just wish he had a signature 6 like the one he actually uses. Still reckon white basses are the ultimate stage basses. Will get another one one day. His kit - if memory serves me right, is currently Avalon, and Aggie. Not too shabby if you ask me. His parametric EQ is pretty useful piece of kit for the price. Alot better than some of the BS put out by these big name companies. Plus he co-wrote Easy Lover. Dont know about anybody else... but I'm a fan!
It's just the corporate-whoreness about it all. I mean re. the NE-1 which the blurb said 'he never plays or records without it', but then he's endorsing Aphex pedals, then he's straight onto endorsing the PJB Bassbuddy. Does he believe in and use all this gear? TBF if any bass (and/or bass related) companies wanted to pay me for using their products I'd rip their arms off.
 2. Survival Studios in Action. In fact there's a whole bunch of places in Acton.
 3. the first white one for me, ta.

 5. so this probably means price cutting on the current stock of Rock Basses?
 6.
hereI saw that.... it was an old Westone....
Ahh! nice one What's going on with the one in the Metro though? Like I said, with a differing HB or maybe a ramp?
I wasn't very impressed by the photography though - it looked rather obviously posed by a non-musician in a photographers studio. This negated the "rock'n'roll action shot" feel they were going for. Am I picky or what?
nah I agree. The way model didn't have their hands on the bass said non-bassist. If you know what I mean.
 7.
In true Dusty Bin style I would let you all now after the event.
is it Ted Rogers?
 8. In yesterdays Metro (freebie 'news'paper given out in that London) there were some pics from the Sony Photo Exhibition. One of them was a bassist, but I've not seen the bass before. From the bridge unit it looked to be headless and seemed to have 2 different style HB's next to each other. Did anyone else see it?
 9.
Anyone used this? just bought one and cannot figure out how to record the on board drums? There is a user tutorial DVD available, anyone got one? Cheers - please help am desperate ! Andy
I've got one, but haven't used it yet, so I'll be following this thread. Don't have the DVD though.
 10. John Taylor played one for a bit too.
 11. Used my old Sub as BEAD. No probs. As above sort the nut, it's possible the bridge saddle may have to be routed, a set up may involve a slightly higher action.
 12. I'd be interested in a rugby shirt style type thing and/or a sleeveless t-shirt.
 13.
i wonder if it suffers from neck dive?
strap that on and your neck would dive!
 14. think I signed up for reason, but can't remember why Haven't logged on for a while though. I spend too much time on here as it is!

 17.
A BDI21 vs. Sansamp comparison here, with soundclips: BDI21 vs. BDDI Cheers
Exactly the kind of thing I was after. Thanks
 18.
Exactly... enough said... anyway back to arrogant shop staff.... alex
+1
 19. I've heard a lot about the V-TONE BASS BDI21, without actually hearing it. I've checked this forum, and done the search, so apologies if I've missed something, but can anyone point me in the direction of some sound clips? ta.
 20.
Anyone can have a bad day i suppose, though from the quick response to try and solve the problem, it seems the gallery are keen to keep a good reputation unlike certain other london bass specific shops. And of course, the good i've heard far outweighs the bad (the bad being what you said macdaddy, i haven't heard anything else bad!)
me neither, and that along with Alex's pm's are why I was happy to modify my posts.
 21.
That almost sounds like an apology. Your initial post was very strong. Would you care to share the details of what happened? It is not acceptable to damage the reputation of a small business, upon whom, as musicians, we all depend, if potentially damaging comments have no proper basis. We are all too quick to criticise poor service and far too slow to praise good service. I have nothing but praise for the Bass Gallery, as already stated, they always go the extra mile and have a great selection of equipment. Regards AM
Hi AM Not an apology, details of what happened were expressed in pm to Alex from The Gallery, and in his replies he was genuinely concerned, so I would not want to dissuade anyone from going there.
