  1. the Josh Fossgreen transcription was useful to me too, but I find it easier to play all that section in one position. So, no moving around the neck, a four fret span, one finger per fret.
  2. BJ the prime minister; UK leaving Europe; Lozz not playing a precision, 'tis truly the end of days 😈
  3. I'm not sure what music I would normally play. My band does covers from the 50's to now, so most styles are covered. In the past I've played other styles. I don't think I have a 'normal'.
  4. sorry to drag this back OT, but I am quite interested to find out what it is too...
  5. Would it have been any good for metal?
  6. to me that sounds as if it would be perfectly 'in place' with the early to mid 80's synth bands. Sex Dwarf - Soft Cell, was the first thing that came to mind.
  7. There was a Marshall valve bass head, and the valves were in a kind of cage, so you could see them glowing. Beautiful.
  8. my custom Shukers have double octave necks, so 24 for me. And yup, I do occasionally get that high!
  9. this is when making Mustang Sally last for 20 minutes comes in useful!
  10. Will have a think, but after the strikes - U2, New Years Day.
  11. Could you post some examples? Ta.
  12. The case for the prosecution rests! 👩🏻‍⚖️
  13. To clarify: ELP would have been out of place in the hit parades of the 50's; Iron Maiden would have been out of place in the 60's hit parades. But take this weeks top 10. Is there anything there that would be out of place in a top ten in 1999?
  14. If the point was put forward, that there has not been anything in the hit parade since the 90's, that would not have been out of place in the 90's, would you agree? Has there been any 'new' music?
  15. You are missing something. Ignore the picture, the link is to Dio sing God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman. Which is definitely a Christmas song.
  16. this is brutal, could have been a normal Dio track - Awesome! God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, not whatever song the picture is showing!
  17. Mark Mendoza playing a rather nice G&L too.
  18. Mainly I've been listening to all the Christmas songs that have been crow-barred into the set over the last week or so, plus New Years Day - U2, which we are going to play after 12am at the New Years Eve gig.
  19. in the setlist since last Friday: Slade Band Aid Jingle Bell Rock Last Christmas Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Springsteen version
  20. i don't know why these don't hold their value, and are not more sort after. They are fantastic basses.
  21. is there a left hand version?
  22. Eric Faulkner... when he saved a suicidal man with the words: ‘You think you’ve got problems? I used to play guitar with the Bay City Rollers.’
  23. Anyone going from that London?
