  1. It's not really clear why you'd want to do this, even if you could.
  2. Mulgrew Miller & NHOP playing Duke Ellington's piano & bass duets. I was lucky enough to see them playing this live, many moons ago. I keep coming back to it, i think you'll hear why. There's also similar recordings of Ellington and Jimmy Blanton playing the same.
  3. I guess this is similar to the FEA Optifet side-chain EQ, where you are adjusting the frequencies that trigger the compression to customise the response of the compressor, but the frequency content of the compressed signal is unaffected?
  4. The action on the E string is certainly not low in that photo. If it's all kosher, I can only assume that he's lifting it up so you can see the "low" action on the A string. Knobs are black with a faux diamond "tip"? Certainly the ad has the whiff of a chancer.
  5. hi as per https://nordstrandaudio.com/products/nj4-vintage-single-coil , are these the 70s or 60s wind? I assume 70s given you had them in a 70s JB. edit: are they the standard or 7.25" radius versions?
  6. I see there's a BT6 (modified) just come up for sale at the bass gallery
  7. He's also playing in London next month... https://cadoganhall.com/whats-on/ljf2022-ron-carter-quartet-85th-birthday/
  8. I assume if being shipped directly to the new owner that they would also be liable for the duties/taxes on the import?
  9. Never had a problem in London in almost 25years, really nothing to worry about. Probably safer now than ever as it's easier to find transport late at night (night tubes and Uber).
  10. https://sineeffect.com/shop/megapara/
  11. A very nice '93 BT5G 4 knob on UK ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334571862675 for a pretty good price at the moment. (I've no affiliation with the seller)
  12. I don't think there's any specific mojo going on. 20 years ago they barely had a market. Now more sought after than ever?
  13. Maybe the seller traded the bass with the shop, or put the bass on a comission sale?
  14. It's a similar switch to most pedals i think, i.e. an audible click when you press. This is now sold.
  15. In excellent used condition, no issues, velcro on the bottom. In original box, with cotton sack/pouch and instructions. £120 inclusive of tracked/insured delivery anywhere in the UK
  16. SKB bass safe, if you want the option to put a bass in a gig bag within a protective shell. I have one and it's seems bombproof although I've not used it in anger. I have used the SKB 44 bass case a couple of times over the years for a transatlantic journey. Went in the hold, via usual baggage handlers, and came out the other side unscathed.
  17. Ah ok thanks, I assumed you did the mod. No worries 🙂
  18. Were there additional holes drilled to accommodate the new bridge?
  19. I think you mean a "ding" on the back of the neck. A "dong" is something else entirely 😂
  20. Here's my Smith Now I'm gassing a little for a CR5
  21. 2.5k is very punchy price for that. (I recently bought a BT5G for not a great deal more!) The seller seems to think it's a US model just cause KS signature is in the control cavity, but I think that's just cause he did the setup/QC on them. Still it's an early-ish Burner model with the older headstock shape. What's the difference on the Burner pickups vs the US pickups?
  22. Anyone know the difference between the HF and CR models? Apart from the HR being built/assembled in Japan.
  23. I had my eye on this when it was at Bass Direct too, I guess you've only had it a few months. I even emailed Sadowsky about it with a couple of questions, and I quote: "This bass is pre-chambering. The mini switch is the prep bypass."
