I was there as well. Bloody nightmare getting in. Great gig though.

Yeah. I dont hold it against the whole chain, but wont risk having to deal with that person again, and does call in to question what their policies are. Ill also add that the company that produced the offending amp is also on my black list, as they wanted a lot of money to fix something that i felt was broken from day one, but because i never used it at all i have no way to prove this.
-
Yep. Many times since I’ve seen something on their website site but have gone elsewhere.

I came here to praise a recent transaction with Bass Direct. I had to get something returned and it all went really well. Even got communication late on a Friday evening from Mark about it. Ive not had any issue with BD over the years. Guitar Guitar on the other hand, I'll never use them again. After finding an amp had a faulty XLR out (many months after I brought it), a manager from one of their shops (which i wont name) basically told me I should have checked it back when I got it, and go speak to the manufacture as its not their problem due to the timeframe. He may have been legally correct, but his attitude stunk. There was no politeness or understanding at all.

NOW £700 firm. Ive recently gone over to using software synths so i have no need of this at the moment. I brought this new in July 2022 from Scan. Its in very good condition, no scratches or dents etc that i can see. Only slight issue (which seems to be a common one) is one of the keys (Bb) has a slight audible click. It’s been like that since just after i got it and is in no way effecting how the keyboard works. Its fully up to date FW wise, And i have the JP8, Juno 6 and JX-8P expansions in it. These cost £450 when i got them. It will also come with an extra 3rd party PSU. If i can find the manuals I’ll include those, but at this stage i have no idea where they are. All are available to download anyway and will be more up to date. Comes with a Roland 61 key gig bag, which costs about £60. Only been used a couple of times. I dont have the box so shipping is not an option. Happy to meet in central london, or you are welcome to come round and have a play on it. Price is pretty firm, but open to very, very near offers.

I guess i could get the B1-four out and use that. Also loved my Stomp but it’s a bit out of my price range now, and i still prefer battery power for its convenience. The B2-four works fine with a power bank, but it’s just overkill. I also still have a MS-60 but i cant see me ever using that again.

Haha. Dont give me Therapist GAS lol.

I must be quite unique on here. I can't actually spend money on bass gear, even though I want to 😀
-
Yeah, that's the one. Ive not used it for about 15 years. Ive had the real thing a couple of times, and brought it again a few weeks ago, but at £250 I just don’t think it's worth it for me. I know of the mod, but to be honest ive never felt the lack of mids were an issue for me. I only have blend on about 10-11 o'clock, just to add a bit of thickness to the tone. Ive still like another BDDI or Paradriver, but ill get used as the price new is a bit silly compared to how much they used to cost.

Haha, no, in my case the goal posts keep changing. Id have been happy with any of the 7 pedals ive brought since April, in fact 3 of them i loved a few years ago, but each time i settle on something, something else comes in to my head. I do think the main cause of all this is money. Id much rather spend the £250 on other stuff. In fact, i did. Brought a new interface and a Mini Moog sim. Just cant get in to bass like i used to. Ive spent almost £1000 on keyboard stuff since April as well, and have no regrets at all. The bass playing is just a sideline, and i just cant seem to spend money on it.

Haha, just sent mine back again. Had a rehearsal yesterday and just took my BDI-21. This worked well and demonstrated I dont need a multi FX. As the original idea in getting the B2-four was to get a BDDI on the cheap (and more options of course), It seems like I already had the cheapest option. Think I'll pick up another MS-60+ though as I really did like a few of the presets for playing at home.

Using iPad/GarageBand as recording device and what limits might it have?
dave_bass5 replied to Rosie C's topic in Recording
I must admit I could never get the hang of Garage Band. I did a few things in it, but as with Logic on iPad I just found it a bit cluttered with two many things hidden behind icons etc. I like the idea of the subscription for Logic on iPad. I only pay/use it during the months I have a gig as I much prefer editing on my Mac, but as a handy multitrack it works really well. Good luck with the new set up, and hopefully your voice will get better soon. -
DV247 seems to be the quickest. 4-6 days apparently https://www.musicstore.com/en_GB/GBP/Zoom-MS-60B-MultiStomp-Bass-Pedal/art-BAS0012701-000?campaign=GShopping/UK&ProgramUUID=HADAqJarPzAAAAFlea9yjI.G&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAqbWRUzqOxyKCF2JomZqusZwE4l4r

Using iPad/GarageBand as recording device and what limits might it have?

Not quite the same situation but I use my iPad to record our gigs straight off the mixer (XR18) in to Logic. it has no issues with 16 tracks at once for 2 /12 hours (most of the time). The cool thing is Logic on iPad will then automatically upload the recording to the cloud, where I can then download it directly in to Logic on my Mac. -
Cheers. Yeah, and it weighs dead on 8lbs as well so a winner all round.

This is my Sandblasted P bass. ive changed all the hardware to black. Big fan of black tuners on a maple neck. I got this on a whim used, for an amazing price a few years ago. Dont think I'll ever let it go. Its outlasted a few basses worth a lot more, inc a Yamaha P34.

That reply was from the Importers, not Amazon.

🥱 If Apple say that downloading the trial again resets the 90 day limit, how on earth is that theft? If they allow it what on earth are you talking about 😏 Who cares what the student bible costs, im 61 😂.
-
A bit later still, but that 90 day Logic Pro trial can be extended indefinitely with a small one line script. It also re sets if you download a new version (even Apple mention the so its not a hack as such). For what it's worth I use a 14" MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro chip and 16GB ram. Never had any issues with latency or slowdowns etc. Its an old one by today's standards, but it will last me for years.

Actually i am. The first two were brought just as i got back in to playing bass. I actually did like them but there were other things that i felt i needed to try, so found more fault (or reason) to not like it, and it was a lot of money for something i wasn’t sure i needed. Now ive tried the other pedals, which i actually thought would work as i loved them before, my mind is a bit more settled. I did love the MS-60B+ more, sound wise, but for home use the ability to just plug it in to my ipad and have it powered from that is vey convenient. For this use it’s the best ive tried, BUT (😂), now im enjoying using it ive found im pretty much sticking to one or two presets, with a bit of tweaking. Ive found the sound i was after, and very happy with it, but do i now need a box like this where the MS could also do just as well live. I know i wont use 90% of the other bits, in fact im not even using the BDDI sim which was a must at the start. I ignored the amp sims at first because im going to be using an amp, but now ive spent proper time with it i think ill be using those amps as a tone shaper (rather than to emulate the original). Having the ability to dial back the cab in the MS actually makes more sense now. Bloody hell, it’s never ending 😂

During the first lockdown I bought a keyboard (not my first, but haven't touched one for 30+ years). Told the band that I was going to play keys and made a real pigs ear of it at the first few rehearsals 😂 . Im more confident now and since picking the bass up for another band recently, I do feel im more proficient on keys than bass now though. I want to join more bands on keys but im still very new to playing.
-
I sold a few things during lockdown and didn’t have one spammer or time waster. Maybe they were all taking the time off as well 😂
-
“Yeah, but there is an issue with the payment. Did you get the email with the link?…..”
-
Ive sold quite a few things on FB over the past few years. Once the scammers have got bored with me things settle down and ive had good results. It's fun to play along at the start but then it gets boring. Ive got to sell some keyboards soon and im sill considering doing it here first, even though I know its not quite what most would be looking for. Once it gets to FB I know I'll get a sale, but at the moment I just can't be bothered with it all the crap.

I have DI boxes so in a way it’s not really needed, but i did like the sound the Tube emulations made when i had the B2-four in the past and it keeps it neat. what swung it more was the fact that it can use it as an interface without the need for more cables. If the MS-60B+ had this id have kept it.
