  1. Ive been looking at this preamp but getting conflicting advice about the SVT/B-15 switch. A mate has one and says he never uses the Grit side, but can hear a difference between the two modes. Reviews say this switch only affects the Grit side. Can anyone confirm what is going on with this switch please.
  2. Love playing that on bass. We do this in my main band where im not on bass, and the bass player plays the verses back to front. Won't have it that its wrong, because 'no one has ever said anything' 🤔
  3. Ah right. cool. I found them all to be quite varied but like you, only one really works for me. It's a shame there isn't an iOS app I could use to change these over when away from the house.
  4. Strange about the IR's. All mine work, plus a couple of 3rd party ones. I tend to stick to the Aguilar one though (top of the list). Also use the Aguilar Amp sim. It sounds really nice to my ears, although ive never tried any of their gear. I really like it, it's a keeper....for now.
  5. Thanks, thats the one. I stand by my comment that it wasn't east to find, but I guess once you know you know. Thanks both, I wont forget next time.
  6. ah ok thanks. Yeah ive got that but it seems to show everything. Ive just noticed 'Activity' on the top as well. Cant see my threads though.
  7. Where are those? im on Mac and dont see that Nope, dont have those, there. .
  8. and where is Activity? I have seen it before but cant reminder where it is. its obviously easy if you know where to look.
  9. Thanks but where are these 3 lines?
  10. Doesn't seem very easy to see all the threads ive started.
  11. A bit off topic but if you can isolate the bass tracks, which is easy to do these days, you might be able to hear the bass tone a lot better and that might help you get closer.
  12. Thanks. Yes, this is why i was worried. I will call them and get clarification. Even if they base it on new for old i think id be covered for the Lakland, or something similar in that price range.
  13. Thanks fort all the replies. All that makes sense. In this case i think ill price in on a new Lakland as that was a bass ive also loved and owned in the past. Id be unhappy if i lost the Fender but its just a bass, i have others, and other than the unique looks there is nothing special about it. I’ve never lost or broken a bass that caused em to make a claim, so i don’t want to be paying a high premium every month, especially as the bass might even leave the house that much at the moment.
  14. I have insurance for my keyboard gear, but until recently i didnt need any for bass gear. Now im back playing bass i need to get my bass insured. The problem is im not sure what cost to put down. The bass is a sandblasted Fender. you cant get them anymore. I paid £795 back in 2016(ish), used. Its not that its worth a lot, but i cant decide if i should insure it for what i paid, or for a cost to get something else. Can i just put a random figured down that would get me a reasonable replacement? I cant think of anything that could replace it on looks, size of the neck and that its only 8lbs. Maybe im overthinking it, and hopefully I’ll never need to claim for it.
  15. Ive tired many Comps over the years, but this is the only one Ive really taken to. So easy to use. Very, very small. https://becosfx.com/product/compiq-mini-pro-compressor-pedal-for-guitar-bass/#description
  16. Yeah, thats why I said final call. Once they are set up correctly then each band member needs to call out for more or less etc.
  17. Believe it or not, Smoke on the water 😂😎. Last time i played it in public i was at school.
  18. Ive always thought it makes sense for the band members to call the final shots over the monitors. After all, they are the ones that will be using them.
  19. Oh down get me wrong, im the same. Dont like 20mm spacing, wide necks etc. Im talking more about those that say they HAVE to spend £1000's on a bass to get something playable, and then play something much cheaper. If you can use the cheaper bass, then you didnt HAVE to spend all that money. Not that it isn't fun, its just the false justification a lot of the time
  20. Over the years ive read many posts about how player's MUST have certain spec's, its all they can play etc, and they spend a lot of money to get this 'perfect' bass, but then get a cheap bass to play pubs etc. I get it, but always chuckle when I read things like that. My P bass is pretty much irreplaceable, being a very limited edition that would be hard to replace, but if something happened to it id just buy something else. In fact it's me having this bass that has caused me to buy and sell other, possibly better basses. I guess that's the advantage of never spending silly money on a bass.
  21. Ive got some of that day-glo tape, and have T and R in different colours. Less to think about. I also put a small dot of the relevant colour tape next to the input jack. Got all basses (😅) covered.
  22. Line 6 have lists of what effects are included, you should be able to find what you need in there. No idea what Twisted is/does, but there are Wah's.
  23. The HX Stomp has the Sansamp emulation, and I found it quite close to my 'real' one at the time. You can also do drop tuning with the HX. It's not fantastic, but I used this a few times in the past where a singer would want to change key and I couldn't be bothered to try and transpose on the fly.
