That reminds me of a Helix Stomp 🙂 We looked at getting something like this, and on the surface it seemed ideal for us, but what made us go for the XR18 is the ability to just chuck it anywhere on stage. As the XR18 doesn't have a screen or knobs it can sit out of sight and without fear of anyone touching something they shouldn't, and if it gets kicked its robust enough (so far) to take it. As i mainly do the sound I dont want anyone touching anything on the mixer, they have their apps for their monitor mixes and that's all they are allowed (or I can do it). Must admit having a good router built in is a good idea, but again, we use a small USB router that can be positioned somewhere else if needed. Most of the time its Velcro'd to the XR18. It seemed strange at first, not having a table on stage with a mixer on it., but on some of the stages we play on the space regained has been welcome.

Pretty much why we went for the XR18 and not the MR18. I think people obsess so much over things that in the real world don't make any difference.

Can we sell software on here?
dave_bass5 replied to dave_bass5's question in Site Issues and Questions
Thanks, i thought there might be an issue. To be clear id be selling the licence’s rather than any files, but happy to sell them elsewhere. -
Ive got some VST pluggins i dont use and wanted to sell them. Totally legit and i can get them transferred to the new owner.
-
just to be clear, these are about 2 years old, with the same design from the first version, so im guessing 4 years old. There are not new by any means. Saying that, I find them fantastic. ive had both version 1 and 2, and will buy 3 when they come out. Im one of those that never actually had an issue with the standard AirPods, and the Pros' fit differently, and a bit looser when I first got them. A set of memory foam tips sorted that out. Strangely (or maybe not), I find depending on the season I either need the foam tips, or can quite happily use the supplied silicon ones.

I love how my Apple watch keeps flashing that the volume is too loud at rehearsals, yet i have a lovely clear mix at a volume that is very ear friendly. The first few times I’d get home without ringing in my ears felt wrong lol.

My Sen IE100 pro cost £80. So to answer your question, no, KZ are not the only company making cheap IEM’s, and in my experience the IE100’s are better. My IE400 are even better, but cost 3 times as much and are not perfect. Best can mean many things. Price, fit, sound etc. in my book until all the criteria are met, it’s not a total blanket win, but others will have their own criteria.
-
Yeah, so many different criteria that it’s impossible to say. For a while i used to think a Sue Ryder bass was the best bass available 😎
-
Can’t be the best if someone doesnt like them. Dont go by what everyone else thinks until you have tried them. People jump on cheap things and swear by them for a time, but that doesn’t mean they are the best outright.

I didn’t like hem either. Switched to Sennheiser IE100 pro (and then IE400 pro). To my ears these are closer to my headphones, but with a slightly more pronounced bass bump (so not a muddy low end as such). I felt they added a smoother quality to the sound. Not as open as the KZZ but the high end is more comfortable.

There are cab sims but they are built in to the amp sims. No way to use one without the other.

Why do you say that? Who would be stepping back? Am I really to believe no one here makes any judgment calls in their bands, and things just magically happen.
-
God? Why would it seem like that because I called up agents and got the band gigs? If no one asks someone to do something nothing gets done.
-
My main band does now, but it’s been hard work getting them to realise they have to do homework. They were quite inexperienced when i joined and put up some resistance, but in the end they all realised if they want to gig they need to be gig ready. My old band didn’t have a ‘leader’, but there was always a need for someone to take initiatives so in a way i was the leader, bit not in charge i guess.
-
There are different levels of fun. if someone is constantly not learning songs or misses rehearsals, because they are only doing it for a bit of fun, the fun goes out of it for others.
-
Are you Mick? 😇

I must admit, when i see posts about ‘band leader’ i tend to think its an American thing. I do think a band needs someone with motivation to push things along if needed, thats what i do, but ive never considered myself a band leader and don’t want to be. It’s fine if everyone is on the exact same page and professional about it, ubt ive been in bands that have sounded awful, but no one speaks up. Sometimes someone just has to take control.
-
And of course there is no need for 5 of them when 4 will do just as well 😇

Jaco never needed a post-it note 😂

Don't we have the Guitarchat section for those? 🫣

Would a signature with the user name help? I can re do the images I posted recently, but difficult to re take them.

Been felling the same about bands recently. My main band has been a real struggle, although we have got to the point where things are a lot calmer and everyone just gets on with it (could be because ive taken a back seat).. Ive had many nights of lost sleep over it though. I was in a band for 15 years where we were all on the same page and never agreed or had to tell anyone else what to do etc. I. miss that. I recently wanted to get back in to bass and join an existing band where ei cold just turn up and play. I thought I had, but they were so unorganised I ended up quickly taking charge, and didn't like that. Back to the sleepless nights. When the main guy left us I felt it was up to me to keep things going....I didnt bother. First time since I started playing that I wasn't bothered about a band I was in. I love playing in bands where everyone knows the songs, wants to be there, has done their homework etc. That wasnt it and I resented it, which soured things for me.

Yeah, I get that, but this is the XLR just plainly not working, and id never tried to use it before. I opened it up to see if it was a loose wire and there was nothing out of the ordinary (not that im qualified). I can understand something external but how on earth do you stop an XLR from working. But yeah, it was the fact that he said I should have tried it when I got it, and that id have to prove it was faulty from the start.
