1. I'm in a similar boat, first time was terrifying and I did crash and burn, making it harder to try again. But that next time I totally smashed it and the crowd went nuts. They had never heard a precision bass on "loud". Now my big fear is cocking it up and not being able to hide it, which is a different fear entirely and an easier one to deal with
2. Sold pending payment and quick test
3. You get graphite rods in the neck and rolled edges plus better pickups I'm not sure the extra is justified myself
4.
I'm guessing that's the Flowerpot? There's also the Diamond in Sutton in Ashfield that seemed to establish itself on the tribute tricket. Agree about the crowds, it's def more of a 'couples night out' vibe at some of those gigs unless it's a really heavy act.
That's in my back yard, I've heard tell but never been there, it's not the finest neighbourhood
5. Liking that - is there a jazz bass version?
6. seem a bit overpriced to me, not far off used CIJ money but they look ok and if it was nearer £250 as Dood mentions, I might be tempted.
7. I have a cheap tort one going spare if you want to try it
8.
Hohner cricket bat
I have a drop d version that I'm thinking about selling
9. Thanks - this is my spare, again please note there is no power supply included - Amazon sell one that works ASIN = B009ZL2ROC
10. Agree Why not add a comment that its beginners friendly?
11. The legendary drum machine. This is in working order but sadly no power supply; I have two and photographed mine so you can find a replacement given the spec and product code http://s1149.photobucket.com/user/geek99/library/sr16 £35 plus cheapest shipping
12. I think it's a good idea to have somewhere for people to ask questions without feeling silly
13. Yes all the time I bought s hohner b2 and keep it in car
14. To be honest you're doing well to get to play as you do, I have two small children and a partner with health issues. I get no practice time and only make it to a monthly OM night. Yes it's hard to find time or motivation for the gym but in not convinced that CV fitness will aid you much in playing for longer unless you're exerting yourself too much doing it
15. Older jap or newer made in China?
16.
From hazy memory hasn't 'I'll be there for you' got a middle section that no-ones ever heard?
Yes it does - I have the cd somewhere
17. My bass doc sunburst precision 75 clone with maple and red tort. Brilliantly setup, instantly recognisable to the lay people and it sounds awesome loud - soon to be reliced and the only one I would never sell Accept no substitute
18. I've got the drop D version, it may be coming up for sale
19.
I occasionally find myself fancying a bass like this, until I remind myself it's not a Precision! I used to own and gig a Hohner Jack but playing it now (as it belongs to Mr Axe jnr) it sounds a bit thin. That's probably down to the J pickups - the OP's looks like it has humbuckers.
It does
20.
Yes - hit 'em for six!
Four - six (strings) would be evil
21. Or hit them with it, it's none of their business
