They may make replicas but they are surely wary of being accused of passing off

Jazz basses can sound like that - I recommend split coil humbukcers in jazz bass dimensions -bonus is they'll be quiet

I purposely put one in my 75 replica - it has el cheapo internet pickups; everyone loves the sound and it's totally quiet noise-wise so either the copper plate adds something in sound, mass or resonance or it's a totally amazing bass anyway and adds nothing. It doesn't harm it; so I suggest putting it in. It was good enough for Leo

I just don't want to get flamed, but I honestly don't think it can be any worse than the one that was there. There simply weren't enough notes to be even close. what was it ? i keep a bass in my car in the hope that one day, I will get some child free practice time in my-ever-shorter lunch break. It rarely happens, but today it did and I looked up the bass tab for a song I listened to on the way in to work this morning. It looked wrong and it truly was once I tried it. It was woeful. Bu tthen I figured it out, and I can count on the fingers on hand the number of times I have done this successfully, but today I did it. I'm toying wih the idea of uploading my correct-er version.

You get chatting to someone , narrow it down to a few titles that you both can live with, knock it through twice in thr corridor and do it as best you can. Its a real challenge and if people tap their, feet, dance, say they lked it then thats a huge bonus

I did have a tutor and I would do it again. I don't have time at the moment but one day.... They spot things that you didnt notice (I swing when leading with my index finger, but am rock solid with my middle finger) and they do boost your confidence. One told me, when I was at a low point, that I was actually much better than I thought I was. We had just knocked out a scratch version of "Stand by Me" and despite never playing it before, I kept it together all the way though albeit with a couple of thin spots. Because he was also a "good enough" drummer and guitarist he was able to quickly put together a scratch backing track and email it afterwards, so it was all very customised; however as Coilte says, it was to be the [i]right[/i] teacher for [b]you[/b].
