No, I’d just fine-sand the shine off to give the paint a key. Assuming the paint types are similar ... I put white nitro straight over a failed transparent blonde (the paint coat was lovely but the can ran out before I could finish) with just a minimal sanding

You probably made a prosthetic finger replacement out of Wenge (maple core, naturally) that’s slightly smaller than the luminlay dots so you can use it as a press tool for them, I’ll bet it’s held in place by a (chambered) rivet made of narwhal tusk, magnesium powder and unicorn saliva- 28 replies

I’m talking about mr bassworks and all the other people who seem to think that making a chambered headstock out of powdered fairy dust and having it blessed by druids (at solstice, naturally) and kissed by unicorns is just run of the mill stuff that anyone can do- 28 replies

They do insurance - I’ve claimed for everything lost and been paid - in line with most couriers it’s not high value insurance
-
Lots - every single one sent by RM international standard got there - was a bit hit and miss pre brexit but fine now

I send lots of stuff by rm international standard (airmail) - rarely gets lost

I’m guessing the red splashes are blood, right ?

So go back and snap it right now ... you can claim it was an accident, defective timber or (with an air of sulkiness) “it was that router wot done it”. No one will ever know

Yes, random Intermediary couriers are a common hazard

Yep - had just the same experience except they also smashed mine up. It had to go back to prosebass to get repaired at my expense

Parcelforce will charge you for insurance but don’t actually cover instruments except under very strict conditions - like it’s shipped in a purple flight case, on a Tuesday and has a sign saying (exactly) “beware of the leopard” I’ve had no trouble with UPS @chris_b inter parcel are not a courier, but rather a broker- you could end up with Hermes... I’ve also had a very negative experience with Menzies recently where I now won’t touch them with anyone’s barge pole
