1. Oooft, I like the look of these. Five string version would mean a sale of a couple of my other basses I'm sure.
 2.
So I've just been very silly and specced up a lovely 32" scale Elwood C on the configuration tool. Hypothetically speaking should I order, how much is shipping to the UK?
No shipping costs whatsoever as far as I'm aware!
 3. I'd love to get a flying V in one of those colors. That would be awesome.
 4.
The sofa is in Germany, is it not..?
Yep, final checks in terms of setup/photo are in Germany, then he ships them.
 5. Sorry, forgot to update this. This has sold. Mods, please close the thread.
 6. I own this combination, gigged it several times and the SC perfect.

 8.
White is very classic. How about that with block inlays?
I thought the block inlays would take away from it! But I'll have a look.
 9. Going for another Jake I think for Uni, I was considering Sandberg... But their shapes look dodgy to me now that they've put in the newer models: Contemplating something like this Or like this... I know, it's less out there than some of my previous basses, that's for sure, currently veering towards the second one, but the cost is basically identical.
 10.
Falling asleep here, but here's a pic, more tomorrow: Cheers Si
If you don't mind me asking, what was the pricing on something like this? I'd love a US lakland (My Skyline is delightful) But they ones that I see over here don't give me the specs that I want!
 11. I'd love one of these, especially one of the new P styled basses that are coming. I keep hearing really good things about them! HNBD.
 12. Awesome cabs, love the tone out of my Ashdown through my SC.
 13. My two Speesy's (Probably as nobody would buy them ) And my Harris I think, the Lakland could go at any point, especially if I want another 5er.
 14. Did a quick clip of the Speesy 5 driven, I like it recorded. I like it a lot, used my Sansamp VT with everything basically flat except the mids at about one o clock. The drive is at noon! Sounds huge: https://soundcloud.c...sy-5-soundclips Haven't mixed the rest of the track yet, but I'll get round to it.
 15.
Some very odd replies here. The main reason is simply that people's vocal ranges vary hugely. Think Paul Robeson and Robert Plant. I'm a natural baritone. I have a rather unexciting mid-ranged voice. Loads of rock songs are pitched far higher than my voice will go, because they're designed to be sung by tenors like Robert Plant and Bruce Dickinson. Plenty of songs are pitched way lower than my voice will go, because they're designed to be sung by Barry White. I suppose I could sing (a version of) Stairway To Heaven if I really felt like it, but never in the original key. That's not because I'm lazy (I'm not) or have an untrained voice (10 years' choral work in a bunch of choirs, thank you very much). It's more a matter of physiology and, y'know, yer actual physics and that.
Very good post.
 16.
Can we see the outfit you're going to wear whilst playing it?
When I do a gig, absolutely!
 17.
Seems v small to me, my ACGs are 45mm nut with 17mm spacing at the bridge and I thought they were quite compact! I can see the appeal though, very much
Just had another look, it is 17MM as opposed to 18MM. I'd love to try something that's a little wider, at the nut. the more I play it, the more I get used to it though.
 18.
For the gigs I do that'd be wrong on every level! I want one now
I've heard a few people say that that want a bass in this colour scheme now. I'm such a bad influence!
 19.
That's really great, actually. I've always avoided even thinking about fivers since I'm sure the necks would just be too wide for me. Something like this I might actually be able to play! With standard 18mm string spacing it must be very tapered, though.
Honestly, I can see why people would think that it would be narrow. For me it's fine though, I wanted it to be exactly the same as the four, with an extra string and that's what came out, going back and forth between my four string and my five string Speesy, it feels almost identical to play, just with an extra string. The thought process between the two is completely different though.
 20.
I'd forgotten it's a five string. What's the string spacing at the bridge?
I'm not sure, I do have a certificate with the specs on. I'll find it. I only specified the nut width. Edit: Just measured it. It's 18MM at the Bridge.
