1. Every voice has it's sweet spot, where the tonal quality is at it's best, so it makes sense to change key to suit the voice as it's almost impossible to change the voice range to suit the song. Vocal range can be expanded with use and practice, but there is a limit and many songs get tuned down a tone or 2 so that the singer can reach the high notes. Remember Macca at the 2012 closing ceremony...embarrassing. Legend has it that he refuses to change the key of his songs to suit his current vocal range, which has dropped as he has got older.

 3. 30 minutes 'Spotlight' set at Filthy's, a bar in the centre of Nottingham. Wer'e a Bowie Tribute band so the poster worked! https://www.facebook.com/missbowieband/ Went down a storm to be fair....great gig, fantastic vibe from the audience. Our photographer also has a cool brand!
 4. Take along whatever spares, strings, leads, 4 gang extension leads you think you'll need. Find a nice holdall bag and take them to every gig in that. After a while you'll find things you don't need at a gig and things you do. Having the bag there will give you peace of mind. But mainly, enjoy it! Playing live is one of the very best things you can do in a darkened room with your clothes on - most of the people watching will wish they were on stage with you! And don't worry if you make a few mistakes, just keep going and keep smiling.....

 6. As everyone has said....don't sell your gear, you'll regret it. You might try contacting a local teacher who may know of other guitarists or musicians who are free in the afternoon for a jam....take small steps and all that. If you can't do evenings, there's always a bit busking to be done, railway stations are good places (you'll need to ask permission)....you could donate proceeds to a local mental health charity? Having busked at a train station for charity I was surprised how anonymous it is, as in, no-one bothers you and you don't feel awkward or exposed, especially if there are 2 or three of you. Never give in, as Churchill famously said.

 15.
Recently copped one of these from the legend that is Martin Owen. He promises (for bassists) muff sounds and more and bway he does NOT lie!! SMOKES any muff I've ever played through, including my OG Sovtek. In fact, I just sold my (awesome) Fredric Green Russian clone, as after copping the Owen, it REALLY was surplus to requirements !! This pedal absolutely SLAYS!!!! From subtle warm, organic overdrive to face melting distortion, it does the lot! The 12AX7 tube, mids control and boost really make it the absolute f*cking b*llocks!!!! That's all I have to say, just wanted to state my case and big up Mr Owen!! One Love x
You playing active or passive through it?
