  1. The vat was paid up front so it was included and there was no import fee - I believe that purchases under £50 pay zero duty, which is only 2 or 3% anyway
  2. Just used these guys for some strings which were hard to find through normal outlets (or v expensive) www.stringsbymail.com Cost £33.00 all taxes and duties paid and arrived about 7 days after ordering. Best UK price I could find was £48.00
  3. Set of groundwound Elite Custom Strings, mediums 45-65-85-105 NOS but gone rusty in a few places. Never been put on a bass Bought em off eBay and the seller refunded and didn't want them returned which was decent of him Can't bring myself to just bin them so selling for a fiver to cover post and packing

  5. I've had a couple of Bass Collection basses including a Bruce Thomas Profile. They are fantastic for the money and so as long as you're not a headstock decal snob, will make a brilliant main gigging or back up bass GLWTS
  6. A gig in the village hall to raise money for Ukraine. We raised £1800. The local Ukrainian centre provided a choir of young ladies to sing some traditional songs and one of them is a refugee from the conflict Followed by various ditties from local acts and scratch bands, one of which I was in.... we're mulching our way through 'Sorrow' here. The chap on the left of the pic in the white shirt is Forest & Newcastle legend Frank Clark
  7. Mike Lull's for me. I'm fortunate to have two of these fabulous basses, a M4V Jazz and the P4 pictured
  8. Hi all Need a clean boost pedal that doesn't colour the tone. Any recommendations fellow bass peeps
  9. Huge amount of heft for no money - probably cost you £500 in chiropractic bills tho😂
  10. I bought a lovely Ashdown 2x10 combo for £40 of Evilbay and paid £85 for a lovely Harley Benton off this very forum. So with that rig I can afford a strap and a lead and still be in or around £150. They both sound mega by the way although I lent the combo to a drummer friend and haven't seen it since 😂
  11. O'Rileys in Hull last night. Not many in but those that were enjoyed it. Great sound, big stage and excellent lights. Darren, the proprietor, is a top bloke. Slightly weird bit ... there's a full-size boxing ring in the back room
  12. Bass Collection basses are excellent and don't really get the love (or command the price) that their quality deserves
  13. Last night's gig.......the iconic Nottingham venue Rock City for Beat the Streets. It was flippin awesome......particularly as Bowie played there in 1997. Might be a bit of a come down playing the Dog and Duck next. Our 15 minutes of fame...well 30 minutes in fact
  14. Welcome I'd go for a bigger Rumble. I have the 100 and it's amazing. Phil
  15. Bootifull. I have 2 Lull's and they are fabulous instruments.
  16. Thanks for all the advice chaps, much appreciated.
  17. So what's the benefit to your playing of a fretless bass. I get the 80's mwaah and channeling your inner Jaco, but what's the benefit to your playing and technique. Would a fretless newbie be better to go lined, marker dots or totally naked?
