  1. Had one, loved it, then got GAS and bought the 360. Then sold that and....you get the picture Best bit.....it goes up to ELEVEN!!
  2. My oh my. One of, if not THE most beautiful bass I've ever seen on here....or anywhere. Truly a work.of art WAAAY beyond my means but GLWTS
  3. I'm sure I read somewhere a long while ago that when shopping for a precision (in London I assume) he tried out about 30 odd to find 'the one'
  4. Have one just like it. Great bass for the money. Headstock logo snobs, walk on by.
  5. Yes, I remember his posts on Facebook. You played a gig in Stamford, which is nearish to Nottingham so I was intent on going until my band got offered a gig on the same night. Great guy and great drummer
  6. That would be one Malcolm 'Harry' Wragg no doubt Went to school with Malcolm and we were in our first band together at school....small world eh
  7. Halloo! Interesting bass, not seen or heard of the Hooker bass before
  8. That way madness lies!! Welcome to BC!
  9. Me too, born in Ludlow....now living in Nottingham
  10. Not at all, thank you for pointing it out. I'm the eejit for thinking it was all valve, although given how good this amp sounds, the all tube version must be epic.
  11. Your OP was very amusingly written @fleabag Foxtrot Oscar is now embedded in my vocab😊 I use either UPS direct when I had an account at work or TransglobalExpress https://www.transglobalexpress.co.uk/ Used to use them for sending stuff to Shanghai (ooh, get me) but they're just as good for UK stuff. Best thing is they have excellent phone support and their insurance looks good too (although untested by me)
  12. Hmm, looks like you're right. Mine certainly doesn't have the valves showing and says FET on the front I've put the add on hold pending further investigation
  13. Cool playing dude! Two too many strings for my abilities and stubby fingers so kudos.
  14. Try https://www.transglobalexpress.co.uk/ They're a consolidator but also have their own vans and depots and they answer the phone....intelligently!
  15. I too have heard worse claiming to be better. Many singers or would be singers do not appreciate that they need to exercise, rest, warm up, warm down etc. I had some vocal coaching once which helped my range and tone a lot but (I'm a BV not an LV) it's lots of work - I used to do the exercises on the way to and from work in the car - got some funny looks at traffic lights 😊 Cool bass btw and well done for getting through it.
  16. Would consider trades for a short-scale or fretless 4 string of similar value NOW SOLD This is the hybrid FET version with the tube or FET pre-amp options and solid state power amp. Price is now £450 --- PRICE DROP £400 ONO spec Power RMS 650 Watts Inputs1x Jack (With 10db Pad Switch) Channels Fet & Tube Equalisation: Bass & Treble shelving controls, Hi & Lo Para Mid, and 6 Band Graphic EQ Master Presence Control Yes, Active Power Stage Feedback Control Preamp Valves 2x ECC83 Output Valves: No Class: Class A/B Link Jack Yes (Line Level Slave) Line In Power Amp In Footswitch Yes (Included) Speaker connections 2x Speakons FX Loop(s)Send & Return Jacks (post EQ, pre Master Volume) Impedance Minimum 4Ω Cabinet Design Marine Grade plywood cabinet with large grip handles Compressor Single Control for threshold & range with auto level adjust (footswitchable) DI Socket Male XLR (Balanced & Switchable Pre/Post EQ) Tuner Output Socke t1x Jack (direct from input, still active when amp muted) Dimensions: 524 x 218 x 400 [mm]. Weight 27 [kg]. Comes with the original footswitch which allows you to turn stuff on and off.....with your foot! Although it weighs a bit (ok a lot - 27kg) it's actually a reasonable lift due to the big handles on either side of the head. New Roqsolid cover and I have the original box so can ship. I've had this fully serviced after the valve pre-amp circuit failed mid-gig - saved by switching to the FET preamp circuit. My amp tech test ran the amp for a week just to be sure after fixing the fault which turned out to be a dry joint. Through my Barefaced super twin it sounds epic, a lovely deep round tone, with plenty of shaping options with all the graphic EQ available. Worth pointing out that you can blend the tube and FET pre-amps, adding an extra level of tone options I can ship at cost but expect it to be £40 insured vis UPS - I do have the original box so it will be very well protected. I can do a meet up if it's within 50 miles from Nottingham I can take more pics and if you collect you can give it a test drive before handing over your cash. Payment by PPG or bank transfer or cash if pickup/meet up Trades added
  17. I'm in a great band, least I was until personalities got in the way and the singer quit. The persona of the band is wrapped up in her so we're done😪 https://www.missbowie.co.uk/ Last gig will be at The Water Rats in London on 8th October so I guess we'll go out in style - it's where Dylan did his first UK gig. We've been gigging for almost exactly 5 years - ironic or what for a Bowie Tribute band.
  18. I went there once when part chopping a bass for a new one. Mark was fine but the assistant was very 'couldn't care less'.
  19. I've been drooling over it but Mrs Ricksterphil would not be amused if I bought another bass
