What they said. I've bought quite a few over the years and never had a single problem. Dave provides top-quality leads and cables at a great price and his service is second to none.
OBBM = Awesomenessified cableness, I wouldn't be without mine.
They've just done a video of each of them: Fender: Squier: Troy's got a good sense of humour too
he's great, I love Mastodon. I REALLY like the look of that Fender one, I have a little GAS building now, like I've had one and a half tins of beans, I can feel that beaner blowin. Is the Fender one made in USA?
No worries, Alice and I thoroughly enjoyed your gig last night, would have loved to have hung around a bit, sadly had to be in work at six this morning.. Love the way you use that volume pedal to fit in with the violins, it sounds great and very musical, gives your bass a cello like attack on those parts of the songs... also Kit is exceptional... Next time your playing round our way we'll get a few mates down to watch. Rob
Aww mate, that's lovely to hear! Thank you! That was the last of a recent run of gigs but we are getting booked often now. Also we have a brand new single coming out in mid-late October on Cool For Cats records so we''ll be scheduling a launch party gig for that. I'll post details here when I get them. Cheers, really appreciate you and Alice being there, I'll buy you both a beer next time

That's fantastic feedback! Congratulations!
Mrs CamdenRob says its a goer so barring any last minute disasters we'll be there. I'll aim for 9 to be on the safe side. See you there. Rob
Hey Rob, it was lovely to meet you both tonight, so glad you enjoyed it, thank you very much for coming! Hope to see you again mate, I'll be posting any new gigs here. Cheers!

How important is it to know all the lyrics to covers
xilddx replied to bonzodog's topic in General Discussion
I play in a covers band and me and the guitarist share the vocals. I sing the songs where its a nice thumping bass and leave the singing to him when the songs call for a more tricky bass line. At present we do a 50/50 share of 15 songs each On the songs I sing, I know all the words but very often get a bit carried away and can sometimes sing the same verse twice but always get chorus and structure right. To me I don't see it as a huge problem. On the other hand our guitarist has a lot of the words written down to his singing songs (in fairness they are on the floor and not always noticeable to the audience) and insists songs should be sang correctly every time. At rehearsals he will always stop a song if he forgets words and start again. Whilst I agree with his thoughts about getting song right I would much rather relax and enjoy the gig without getting too bogged down with learning every word as long as the choruses are right What does everyone else think?
I think you're on a slippery slope of laziness. Lowender's right. -
There's an isolated bass and drums (with a little bonus vocal and bass synth bleed) here for those that want a really good listen to Geddy's tone on Digital Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28gcZQiQvds
Ahh sh*t, it's not playing for me
I can't keep still for longer than 2 seconds. Im constantly moving, grooving, foot tapping and rock 'n' rolling.
Yeah me too, I used to have a few shapes, but I just move to the groove and forget I'm being watched most of the time now.
Ha! You can't win 'em all. It's nice to hear them covered by someone other than awful shiny nu-proggers or sludgy Norwegian black mettallers for a change...
Yeah I know, but this sounds like a top end function band cover, it just doesn't have enough personality for me I'm afraid.

Oh man, I really hate it. Sorry WoT. The performances are ok of course.
Can you pay on the door for this do you know? Rob
Absolutely mate. If you are sure you are going I will sling you on the guest list. It might have to be the reduced price list if we have a lot of friends coming but I'll try to get you on the free one.

Come and shake your Zulu arse on Friday night. It's free and the venue is lovely, a really nice big pub.
Weak answers (apart from the first one which was clearly a trick question). Have another go, but this time use this:
I'm not sure why you want me to validate you. SMART is not used for the purpose you seem to intend for it here. -
I have no intention of using the SMART technique, because it doesn't really interest me and I have other priorities musical and otherwise.
Playing music is a pleasurable business. Why not use the tools of business if they transfer?
It will go above their heads Bilbo, most can't differentiate between clever and stupid, useful and pointless, truth and bollocks. As long as it looks like what they have been told is bollocks, they will think it's bollocks, and won't look any further. -
Try this one, I love this number but getting the pulse and the first beat of the bar from the drum and vocal intro f***s me up every time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Wp-SZSBkjk
My pleasure mate! Great to hear about the upcoming single too. You lot deserve that and then some. You also need to get your arses up north for a gig! Or I need to get mine down south sometime
Awww cheers man! Also meant to say I will check out Shep's new music too, I really like what he does, great ears. Sadly we still have no plan to get out of town yet, but if you ever plan to come down here, I'd be delighted!

Tortoise shell doesn't go with maple - prove me wrong
xilddx replied to Jono Bolton's topic in Bass Guitars
Don't think maple works with sunburst and tort, but it can work with olympic white and tort. Maple certainly works with sunburst and gold anodized. I think maple also works with fiesta red and tort. My favourite combinations are oly white and black with maple and oly white with mint and maple. Just to confuse the issue.
Absolutely! It looks gorgeous. I can't stand tort on sunburst or black, I think it looks rank, red tort is especially despicable. Love dark tort on oly white, especially with a maple fingerboard. Had a Strat like that once. -
Daft Punk are getting a lot of love and hate... I bought the album (and have their previous ones) and definitely fall into the 'love' camp, but I understand that it's not everyone's cup of char. I've also really enjoyed 'Exai' by Autechre and 'Koi No Yokan' by Deftones (yeah, I know the latter was released last year but I've only just stumbled across it - on the back of a thread on Basschat, no less - and so yeah, what is time anyway, it's just a human construct, so nyar!). That all said, one of my favourite releases to date in 2013 is 'Love Songs in Age' by Kit Richardson. That's not just me being sycophantic towards a fellow Basschatter (Nige/xilddx), I genuinely love it I'm also really liking the stuff that Shep is putting out at the moment through his KADE project (details here). Gotta love Basschat for the new music that gets signposted on here
Paul, I just saw this, thank you so much mate! We've got a brand new single coming out soon too, a new song, on an actual label Love Koi No Yokan too. I was listening to Autechre about 12 years ago, will have to check them out again. Cheers man.
