1. A venue I play regularly has one of these, it's been abused and it's really beat up, but it's sounds monstrous! Fantastic amp, I use it as a stage monitor with my POD.
 2.
Caught my first Tench for 30 years yesterday! Was I a happy bunny or what!
Excellent mate! Gorgeous fish, I love tench. I christened my new 1950s MkIV split cane rod with a 8lb 4oz bream last Sunday. Mind you I've seen fish in Waitrose with more fight in them.
 3. I will also chuck in this Genuine Fender Vintage Bridge with ridged saddles I just bought, brand new in unopened packaging. I wanted to A/B it with the Badass, and also you'll be able to fit ashtrays with this vintage bridge on. I believe it just goes on using the existing screw holes.
 4.
MB1. "Don't usually like tomatoes John, but this is delicious!" BUMP!
Cheers fella
 5. We are spreading our wings and getting out of London for a change It's a late one this. SHAANTI PRESENTS 'MOVEMENT' FEATURING: KRUPA LIVE ON SATURDAY 7 MAY 2011 10:00pm - 4:00am THE HOCKLEY BAR & CLUB 120 VYSE STREET, JEWELLERY QUARTER Birmingham, United Kingdom https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=2125...hp?id=523089658 Krupa's debut single - RIDICULOUS BOY KRUPA British born recording artist Krupa is a genre blurring singer, songwriter, producer & performer who is soon to release her debut solo album "Wonder IF the Moon". Her inventive style combines a refined pop sensibility with a modern mix of rock & electronica. Inspired by her love for retro movie soundtracks and often referred to as the hummingbird... Krupa's genre bending vocals allow her songs to move from one style to another showcasing her versatility. A charismatic and unique live performer who has sung with Neneh Cherry, Maxi Jazz, Eddie Reader, 1 Giant Leap and currently touring with Transglobal Underground. Krupa's sound has a free spirit celebrating operatic pop n rock delivering the energetic funk of Prince, the tenderness of Minnie Riperton and the electro harmonics of Goldfrapp. She has just released her debut single RIDICULOUS BOY and her eagerly anticipated album "Wonder IF the Moon" has already received a 4**** review from UNCUT magazine: "Spinning the bouncy rhythmic Eighties dance-pop of Madonna and Prince into fresh directions.....It’s as busy as Tom Tom Club with burbling samples, funky drum-breaks and bursts of reggae and rap, insistently catchy. Fierce." "Kate Bush but with balls".... declared The Arts Desk and "Jaw Droppingly Good" was The Evening Standard's response to her live performance. 6. What a cracking gig! Staff at the QEH were totally professional, we had a great sound and a nice big stage. About 250 very responsive people in the audience, and we sold all our 30 promo EPs. Superb feedback from people afterwards too.
 7. Thanks mate It's a beauty. Played it a couple of days ago and really thought about keeping it. But I can't afford to. The neck is sublime.
 8. I'm after a Kingbass Standard. I miss playing headless basses a quite bit, the styling is lovely, and the neck dimensions aren't far from my ideal.
 9.
Was gonna pop along, but I'll have to see, as the sodding London Marathon will be clogging up the streets again!!
Hey thanks man. We checked and the route doesn't go near the Southbank Centre so it should be ok. We were a bit concerned about this too. Cheers.
 10. My favourite is this one. One of my favourite ever dub/reggae drummers, Jah Bunny, came up to me backstage after our show at the RISE festival in London a few years ago and said "Niiiiice bass playin' man". Then he asked me for three Rizla
 11.
That's a very intriguing clip and refreshingly different to a lot of the crap bombarding the airwaves at the moment. Good luck with the gig. If I weren't playing in Ipswich I'd come along.
Thanks Pete Have fun in Ipswich mate.
 12. If I invested in the bridge and pickup covers and fitted them and put photos of that up, this bass would have gone by now! Of course they take em off when they get the bass cos you can't play properly with the buggers on. But this Jazz would look amazing with the jewellery on. Anyway, I bought a new Fender Vintage Bridge with the ridged saddles to replace the Badass and possibly put covers on. I will chuck that brand new unopened Fender bridge into this deal.
 13. Coming up this Sunday afternoon. Get down to some funky smart-pop, Bollywood style
 14. Some new sale terms added to the original post. Will ship. Will hold for 6 weeks with a deposit.
 15.
Ah, very kind, but please continue with your sale! I am still dithering, shillying, and shallying! I know it's easy to fit and buy - I'll keep thinking on. Just thinking out loud really - I probably shouldn't have posted!
It's the pretty colours, they dazzle, they delight! But it's just a Fender Jazz Bass really, albeit a great playing, great sounding, great looking, beautifully made Fender Jazz Bass.
 16.
Mike, if its a deal breaker and as Nigel is a mate, I will forego the J-Retro if you want to buy the whole shooting match? Your call
Clarky, that's very magnanimous of you. But the JR is promised to you and I won't go back on my word just to make a sale. If Mike really wants it, he can always buy a J-Retro. I'll fit it for him too.
 17.
Ah, gutting, was interested in this with the J-retro but still trying to make a decision. Oh well - good luck with the sale
John East is still among the living mate And it's the easiest thing in the world to fit if that's what you are worried about.

 19.
Apologies for the spelling, am on Blackberry so can barely read what I type. Basically, top guy and top bass!
That's very kind mate! Thank you Your J-Retro 01 is packed and ready to go, cheers!
 20. OK, the original electronics are back in and I have uploaded brand new pics. This is all original again and the price is what it should be. Cheers
 21.
http://standardlondonevening.wordpress.com...y-9-april-2011/
Clarky, that's ace man! Congratulations What do you think of the venue? I really enjoyed the atmosphere when we played a couple of years ago but the electrics were a nightmare, I tripped them twice
 22. Mmm, had a couple of interesting trades, but not really for me. I'm thinking my ideal highly reliable, good looking, wonderful playing bass might be a Status Mark King Standard. Anyway, a question. If I put the original electronics back, would this bass sell more easily? is the J-Retro putting off the purists? Cheers, N
 23. Ahhh, this bass is LOVELY! I sold it to James a couple of years ago. I had the extra Delano Soapbar put in and the electronics made more versatile, Martin Petersen (he makes Sei Bass) at the Bass Gallery did that, he said it was a really nice bass with a great growlly tone. That's a big compliment coming from Martin. It's lovely to play but I like Jazz width necks and this is a bit wider, so I sold it and got a Warwick. The Delanos are remarkable pickups, the harmonic detail is something else and perfect for a fretless bass. If you want a fretless with tons of character, this is for you. And as Chuck says, it has a lovely tonal palette. Chuck, be patient, it's a bass that has a particular market, it will sell eventually, and by god £600 is a f****** give away! Best of luck mate!
 24.
PM's with a crackin 2010 jazz bass
Ahh, PMed back. Great offer, you have a spiffing Jazz there mate! Sadly, I think I'm after a Warwick or perhaps a Status, a modern bass with great design features. Thanks again, greatly appreciated.
