Gah, if I could afford that I'd have it for my Tobias. What happened to the headstock on your Warwick? *edit* my bad, i just realised its the neck on your Electra. Why are you parting it dude?
The neck is sh*te mate. It's a Rock Bass, and this particular neck changes relief depending on where in my home I put the bass. It's got progressively worse over the past 6 or so months. It's sad to part it out, but it's wood and strings. I need a reliable bass, the music is what is important. One day I may get a proper Warwick neck or have one made to fit. Cheers.

EAST PREAMP - U-Retro Deluxe 4-knob Gold. This is a fairly recent product and not on his site yet. I chose it after a long chat with John about my requirements. It's basically the 5 Knob U-Retro with the Blend and Volume as a stack. It is a fantastic pre, very versatile and wonderfully built. These are £218 new. This is in mint condition. £160 posted.

Sadly, I'm going to have to part this out. There are a couple of little niggles that bug me, like the pain it is to change the battery, but the worst is that the neck is moving about, absorbing moisture I think, or summat. The relief keeps changing. Anyway, parts in the for sale thread coming! I am after a bass that's reliable, probably a Sandberg PM or VM 4
Heard. And it is only fair to point out that my experience has been with one person, and as is clear there are a few more folk there.
Martin is an absolute gent. He's done work for me which has been superb, and I recommended a friend go their to get sorted the mess Chandlers made of his 4001. He was knocked out by what Martin had done to it, he was over the moon. It even made me ever so slightly want a Ricky when I played it.
The richest person I know is also the scruffiest too, he also likes instruments. What's that saying about books and covers?
I'm not talking about me mate, I can usually get the measure of someone as they walk to the door, I mean them at the Gallery that the OP might have dealt with.

Mmm. Did he have one of them daft bass clef tats on his hand? If so, that's Alex. The other guy is John who is the workshop guy along with Martin, I know it wasn't Martin who dealt with you. John and Alex haven't got the greatest of social skills, especially on the phone, but they are decent chaps. I can't really imagine either of them treating you like that, the first time I went in they let me try loads of gear, and the last time I was there it was the same. I don't know if you gave some sort of impression to them that made whoever it was behave like that. I have met some people on forums who jabber like a good un online but look like hell in real life and can't seem to get a sentence going EDIT: I don't mean I'm applying that extreme to you of course, billyapple.
seriously... it depends on the model...
It's funny how people think you can provide accurate responses with so little information to go on Hello, I live in Billericay, how much is my home worth please?

Will consider trades for the right 4 string bass. Active, pref 24 frets but 22 on the right bass is ok, good condition and reliable with low action, headless welcome, cash either way. Warwick, Status, Steinberger, Sandberg, Ex-Factor, etc. WHY? The brain is the Roland TD3, basic but with great sounds and click training facility. "The TD-3 Percussion Sound Module boasts 114 new, high-quality drum and percussion sounds arranged into 32 kits, plus an easy-to-use interface so you can start playing right away. Finding the right drum kit is simple: just use the Phrase Preview function to hear a short demo for each kit. Each kit’s sounds can be enhanced using 15 types of built-in Ambience effects and compression. And with Roland’s enhanced Rhythm Coach onboard, drummers can improve their timing, speed and endurance using several rhythm-training exercises. The back of the module features nine trigger inputs, making it possible to add more pads like Roland’s mesh PD-80R for snare. A stereo Mix input lets you play along with external audio sources, while MIDI In and Out let you connect with sequencers and more." All the pads are Roland V-Drums, all are dual zone but a good few of sounds in the brain are pressure sensitive (editable), especially the snares and rides, so the sounds can change if you hit harder, so you get more than two sounds per pad for some things. The snare is the mesh variety and tensionable, it's bloody good! The cymbals are dual zone and chokeable. There's the Roland hat controller pedal and it comes with Mapex Forge XL double kick pedals which seem very good indeed. It's all in near mint physical condition and is faultless. KIT LIST: TD-3 Brain and Power Adaptor Mesh Snare 5x Dual Zone Pads 2x Chokeable Cymbals Kick Drum Unit Hi-Hat Controller Pedal Mapex Forge XL Double Kick Pedals Frame and brackets All necessary cables included I will chuck in an old stool (your jokes have been anticipated and improved upon ) and sticks if you need either or. [s]£485[/s] I looked on ebay and similar kits seem to go for £400ish. BUT this has an extra pad and Mapex double kick pedals so price is now dropped to £450 Collection only from Ealing in London and you are welcome to try before you buy. Cheers, Nigel

See the other thread, worth about £150ish. I've had a few and also rate the necks very highly.
£150? That's all I have paid for each of my Squier (modded with logo etc) Jazz basses. (Check my avitar for one of them!) The very early Korean stuff had problems I believe. If it plays nice then it's worth whatever you pay for it All these three only cost £400 for the lot
I'd agree with that value at the moment. I have paid more in the past though. That said, the current Chinese Vintage Modified and Classic Vibe Squiers are superb instruments for the price, and a S/H one at about £150 - £180 is almost unbeatable value for money.
Thanks, mate - well, audition happened in the end of April, I think, but I got the call only in the mid of July (when I broke my arm through over-pracitising... ) - on Monday we pulled TV season opening (and European Basketball Championship too - Great Britain team is playing there too).. You can check it out there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGjdw_2PZ6c You will unlikely see the band (at 3:26 at the best), but we were there.. easy Laimis
Fabulous, great tone and great playing mate, congratulations on the gig! You'll have to forgive me for this, but you often come across as a bedroom hero and a little bit arsey sometimes (that's English for being a bit of a prick ) Some of your YT vids are not a reflection of what I see and hear on that house band vid, there is little feel on those, but in this BIG pop vid you have loads of punch and emotion. I saw you on this house band vid seriously giving it some, lipstick and everything! You should be very proud, congratulations! Best wishes, Nigel
Me? I'm currently working for country's biggest commercial TV, sitting in its house-band and playing for the biggest pop acts in the country. Anyway, how does your question relate to what I said in my previous post?
Wow congratulations man! When did that happen?
