Cheers for the input silddx. I'm not too sure really as I've never removed the bridge. Anyone knows anything about it?
The guy who bought mine did this to fit a standard bridge and mount the ashtrays. He didn't mention that it left a footprint. I would say there's a chance it would, it might be barely noticable. Depends how long after the body finish had cured the BADASS was fitted. The body is sure to have faded and there will be signs. My personal feeling is that I wouldn't take it off to find out for someone. I think with a bass like this, it all works as intended, and if you want to buy it you take your chances, and if you want to bugger about with it after you've bought it that's your choice.

Very best of luck man! I will be at the SE Bass Bash in the day and having friends over in the evening, otherwise I'd be at the H&A watching you. Break a fang!

Cool! I read it. Nice one! I have paid no attention to Richard Bona, but what you said about his approach due to being a singer is dead on.
I honestly am so arrogant that I think my bass tone is the best ever. Have a listen to this which is a recording of my old band re-recording our songs in April. There are mistakes etc but just listen to that tone!!
That is a good tone mate There are two aren't there? I like the tone in the staccato math bits a lot!
Sorry for the mild thread hijack, but how do you have it set up normally (electronics selection wise). Rather special? I've noticed a ltd ed and an SE floating about the FS section, or is it something altogether different?
It's the neck pup in humbucking mode, going through a POD X3 LIVE. This is an three month old mix but it's louder, deeper and bigger in the mastered track.
What warwick are you playing mate, an SS1?
Nah, it's Corvette $$ I stupidly sold to Jam. There's an older mix on Soundcloud but you should hear it now! It knocks my socks off! I may be getting a rather special Warwick soon but I need shot of the Status first.

As arrogant as this might sound (it's not meant to be though), my favourite bass tone is my own at the moment! 51m0n has mastered the Kit Richardson EP I'm on and I just adore my bass tones, there is some of Si's magic going on too, but boy, I love it so much that I am going back to Warwick basses. I'll post a link when the video's out in the next couple of weeks.
Mmmmmm that would he sweeeeet! You'd have like yin and Yang basses! It is good that there's so much Sandberg love going around, but I just wish there was a bit more appreciation for the Basics!
They aren't very pretty IMO, and you know what people are like on here, if it doesn't look like a Fender or a Ricky, they don't know what to make of it. Anyway, I have decided to go back to Warwick. Hearing 51m0n's mixes of the new Kit Richardson EP this week, I have fallen in love with my own bass tones I need a Warwick again! -
He is a great bassist. His approach to dub, well anything he plays, is interesting and very emotive. He can be quite hypnotic. I really like his work.

I just sold Paul my John East U-Retro Deluxe. Paul's a great guy to deal wit, excellent and friendly comms with regular updates. This could not have been smoother. Thanks mate, I hope the East puts a massive grin on your face! Best wishes, Nigel
I bought a J. East U Retro unit from Nigel in one of the smoothest transactions I could imagine. He kept me informed the whole time and didn't even bother to wait for the money to clear in his account before sending it off. Top man. Cheers Nigel!
Paul, the pleasure's mine. The money went in this morning actually. I hope the U-Retro delivers for you, I can't imagine anything less than a huge grin when you first fire her up Thanks so much, N
Actually guys I've found this for sale, what do you think and would getting from the USA cause me issues like tax etc...? http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_2486wt_1065
NO Looks to me like your motivations for buying are far from tone and feel. Colour maybe?
Cheers guys, the feedback is great, like it! Still can't decide what to do.... i will try a new one at the weekend as I have found one to test and then I'll try and find someone with one for sale near(ish) to me to see what the difference is first hand, then the old wallet will need to come out one way of another?? Thanks a million and please any more advice will be well received, especially with regard to feel and overall sound on the new Rockbass and the German older ones out there.... Mark.
The Rock Bass necks feel more like Fenders, coated maple with rosewood boards, the recent German ones have waxed ovangkol wood necks with wenge or ebony boards, they feel more erm, woody, more organic I suppose. You get steel frets on the RBs, bell brass frets on the Germans. Sound? It's a matter of taste. I found the Rock Bass I got could have been anything, decent sound, throaty. The German ones I've had are richer, growlly, more expensive sounding, woodier, much better to my ears, but it's all subjective. A lot of what is said about tone on here is complete bullshit because it depends what you put the bass through. It's all down to how discerning your ears are and knowing what you like. My personal feeling is that to buy a new Rock Bass when you could get a S/H German Warwick for the same money is sheer madness. Utterly incomprehendable. But you may try both and prefer the RB. It's all down to you. We have given what facts you need to make a decision.
Weird. If I rename Jake's file as .pdf it's fine, wonder why the extension is being substituted? Perhaps a 'Site Issue' Anyway thanks Jake I've got the document, I'll give it some attention tonight.
It's very good. I can actually sing it faster than I can play it mind! But that is very important to me.
