Hence I need the 1x12s....anything larger and I may as well use my medium sized cabs. I still think the AEs were a great sound...and lighter.

I have the best of both worlds. I think the Terror can definitely achieve good quality high volume clean, but I dont think it will be the same clean as the MBass. Im just going to get one anyway so I have a choice of 3 amps...but Im going to see how the pros review it. I must admit, I was very impressed, and it weighs barely anything.

My name is Gareth and I gas everyday for new cabs and basses. Amps, I think, I am happy with. Even though I am happy with my cabs and basses, I want more. This year, I have bought 2 new USA Fender basses, traded an Ampeg 810 + cash for 2 Aguilar DB212s, bought an Orange AD200b Mk3 with the OBC115 and OBC410 cabs, sold a Trace Elliot 400W SMX and added cash to get a Markbass LM3, completely reveamped my cables with OBBMs help, bought cab covers/flight cases for amps/amp bags and still got a Bergantino HS410 somehow, (thanks to Geoffs amazing price and helping with the meet). I now have 5 cabs, 2 amps, 5 basses. Guitar wise, I have sold my Fender Deville and Big Muff, and I have and Orange Dual Terror and PPC212 in Ltd 2009 White on order. This year has been the craziest year for gear ever. I still crave a small 2 x 112 setup. Preferably Berg. I am gassing for a Tonehammer, Lakland JO/DJ 5, and more cabs. Why? Because its the most fun stuff to buy EVER.

Problem with me is I want a bass for every tone Im after....so P, J and Stingray. Got them, but now I want a 5. Ive had to stop my cab addiction now though....I figured 5 is enough!

But, there is DEFINITELY a different tone on the ceramic vs neo...I tested the two high end Berg 1x12 mini-stacks. The ceramic had tons more...how can I put it, smooth and chunky roundness, ignoring the tweet. The neo sounded great, but more light and aggressive.

I still get plenty of advice to go for two 1x12 x 2....which makes sense. I also am advised that 1x12s are only a little lighter when neo, and not really worth it for the slight loss of ceramic 'grunt'. Eg, if its a 1x12 get the best ceramic 1x12.This was from a professional player who owns his own store. Hmmm.

If you are a fan of 4x12s and you want lighter than you have, you should definitely at least try the Bergantino NV412. That is lighter than most 4x12s can ever hope to be, and is extremely well made. Or, you can do what I did and go for two 2x12 cabs, with casters. Mine are Aguilar DBs.....fairly pricey, but those 12s are so fat, aggressive, responsive and articulate. Plenty of options. Or....how about Genz Benz 2x12s x 2....they are quite light cabs. Good thing about having two cabs is take two to large gigs or one to small gigs!

The only ones that aren't are the Terror Range, the smaller less expensive guitar cabs, and the Crush Combos.

Hmm This is odd. The DJ5 and JO5 were my GAS list for 5 string bass....so now I might just give it a few more months and see what else happens! If they have new colours...thatll be awesome. I like the JO, but the DJs block inlays are superb. Anyone compared the two tonally? Weight etc?

Well Ive scouted about (like the connection!) and ive managed to find one of these amps that is new, the one with one input, with all the mesa bits apart from the box. Its been on display as most amps have, but watched over carefully. Im not going to say how much....haha....or where...yet, as I might just get it. Put it this way, its less than £1100 brand new! Do I trust the store and go ahead? Thanks
