1. Rehearsal room, less volume, roll off the low end, or perhaps even an Auralex board?! Do they stop the low end from your amp/cab travelling throught the floor so much?
2. Cheers for the links, ill check em! That Green is a lovely colour but Id like one thats a little younger!
3.
fender japan.... ...
I had a MIJ P which Nig bought off me. It was a very cool bass, but the current prices are too high for me...(they seem to be £700 ish now and some stores will do an American Standard for £150 more with a hardcase etc). Id also have to get USA pups, as I can hear a huge difference with them. Thanks anyway! If you could buy them new for £500-£600 Id have one!
4.
What's the output like on these? I'm on the Market for something simular in weight
The LM2 (version before) had a bench test with Bass Gear Magazine (I think it was them!) and proved to have a very healthy output...put it this way, at 8 ohms, I need no more than about 1/3 master volume with the gain set so the light doesnt flash at all. At 4 ohms, the MB heads really open up!
5. Ha, you all know how picky I am. The main reason I dont want to spend a fortune is because I just want a nice quality, simple passive jazz. I dont need a nice top, additional circuits, etc. I just want a well built bass. Sadowsky/EBMM quality but Fender tone, style and sound. I have been offered a Squier CV 60s J or a Fender American Standard for a price thats pre-VAT/price rise....so nowhere near the current crazy prices. I dont know why I cant get around the Squier....they seem to be very popular....but will it cure my Jazz GAS?! At the moment, Im tempted to order before the quote expires, and if I cant find a nice American Standard after a few, just leave it be.
6. Nice rig...love the Orange gear.
7.
Yes Cheers! It's hard to understand but I always did want a Fender, I was just put off by the random quality of them, and some a just plain rubbish, I've only played one USA one that had me thinking about it the next day, and that was a new USA Standard out of four I tried. But this, this is wonderful! It's like coming home. Although I am having to do lots of work on the POD to get it to sit in the mix right. No mad guitars to battle with but lots of keyboard, strings and vocal. I do one thing and it cancels out another, or I get a good audible eq but don't dig on the actual sound. These PODs can be wonderful but they are also a great way of disappearing up one's own arse.
The random quality is just utter sh**....it really annoys me. The current retail prices are sky high...they need to really think about what they do in QC.
8. Ah heck ill end up with a Jazz soon...ARGHH
9. Hi Cellkirk74 - nice to see on another forum!
10.
Does that mean ur buying it?? Such a bargain!!!!
Unfortunately no Id love a mint green or fiesta red version. I have a normal 2 band Ray which is super super light and pretty, so I think im sticking with that. Have you seen the new Roasted Neck Matching Headstock Gold Classic Rays?! Its like a super package!
11. A drummer who understands bass, and a guitarist who gives you room to breathe! In all honesty id love to be part of a large band with brass eg ska-orientated or something like Rocket From The Crypt.
12. If I trusted myself with modding and soldering, id definitely be more interested. As it stands, I havent soldered anything since I was first taught how-to and that was YEARS back. I always think im going to ruin the paintwork or damage something.
13. UK prices have literally turned ridiculous. £300 price rise on USA Fenders when we were only expecting a 5% rise.
14. Not seen ANY in the UK/Europe. If they do it again this year im going to order one!
15. Are the CV Jazz basses really that good?! I played one, and it sounded pretty ok. But are they as nice as the current American Standards? How far apart are they? I realise its a huge price difference.
16.
Beautiful! Is the bridge standard Fender or a Gotoh? Looks too heavy to be BBOT.
Thats the new standard high mass Fender bridge. Actually, its a really good upgrade IMO.
17.
Is it me or do your strings run offline?
I can see what you mean...lovely looking bass though. Can you get the shop to check it? E seems close to the edge of the board cf to the G.
18.
my fingers are f***ed today, I haven't played for that long at home for many years.
This is a good point....I find if a bass does this to me, then Im very happy!
19. Same spec as mine. It is definitely my all time favourite P bass (out of the fair amount ive played over time). Great choice.
20. Email the Bass Merchant - [email protected] Darren is a Warwick expert and has a custom version of this bass.
21. I seriously suggest trying before buying. I am more than happy with the Mk3, but that's me.
22. I knew there were bargains around. Id ring to confirm they are out if stock btw....the first time I went to order the website wouldn't let me buy a light blue one.
23.
if i was going to buy one jazz... the red secondhand one bass direct have....
Too expensive and not a huge fan of the colour. If I go that route I'd just get an American Standard again.
