  1. Would folk subscribe to the view I've heard recently that: "there will be live music, but not I think as we once knew it." If you do agree with it** how would you see that view applying to festivals like Glasto and to live music more generally? **for the record I don't - I see it being more the sort of comment that emanates from someone's nether regions after they've had too much of something or other!
  2. I'm amused that certain learned gents, who should know better, find it difficult to understand the difference between a "vaccine" and "test and trace". That point is not rocket science, surely? 128 days till May 31st - just an educated guess, nothing more / nothing less. When you're not employed by the State, particularly if you're running a business employing others, it's something you have to be doing all the time. (And tbf it's not something limited to folk working in the private sector just have to do - plenty in the Public sector in leadership / management positions are having to make educated guesses very regularly too). Let's hope the date pub and other gigs restart is sooner rather than later, whether or not we get there by the end of May, for the sake of the hospitality industry in the UK which has been the whipping boy in this pandemic. And I'm delighted that we are rolling out the vaccine at record pace across the UK - it's great news for all our elderly and frail. Something to be celebrated and credit where it's due.
  3. My old Stomp in fact, Mark? 😁 In terms of the Stomp XL vs the LT, if they turn out to be similarly priced, the LT has an expression pedal, additional stomp switches, a bigger screen and double the processing power (the same as the full Helix in fact). It's obviously a fair bit bigger but my vote would go to the LT. Oh...and it has an XLR out too 😉
  4. You're plopping me right? Can't believe this still hasn't sold! There's clearly a fair bit of constipation in the market right now.
  5. Yeah totally with you on having to pay for features that you don't need. I had the same issue originally with my DG M900 amp, but ended up using most of it in the end. Still hardly using any of the additional stuff on the back of my M900 Mk2 (AO), but given I was lucky to pick that up for what I got for my Mk1 I guess I should think of them as being free! Hooky you don't need an XLR as such as the Stomp has a balanced output. Just get 1/4" to XLR cable and you're good to go.
  6. Yeah very much had you in mind with the EP comment, mate. But if they are going to be adding £250+ [TBC] for the privilege of not plugging in an external stomp switch pedal, that's asking a lot from punters!
  7. Smoothhound Classic Wireless Guitar System - spare / back-up transmitter. Collection or around £5 P&P (These are £79 plus P&P new)
  8. Rockboard FlaX Plug MIDI Cable 30 cm x 4 (new). Happy to split into two lots of two at £9 plus P&P per pair Cost around £13 per pair new plus P&P - so bag yourself a saving 30% off the list price for a band new item.
  9. Personally, I think if Yamaha relaunched the BB2005 they would have a ready market and it would likely be received as the equivalent to the BBNE2 that the BB1025 is to the BB2025.
  10. Yeah not surprised at all and I was really tempted myself - they hardly ever come up and this was on for a really good price! Okay it might need a bit of work on the bass EQ but I can't imagine that would add more than £75 to £100 tops worst case? And given there is one on eBay for £1,200 it's still great value.
  11. A lovely black BBNE2 and an even rarer BB2005 which is on for a great price in the FS. Yamaha BB2005 - Basses For Sale - Basschat
  12. Damn that's lovely, rare and on at a great price!
  13. Wow that's lovely! There is a wanted ad up for a black BB NE2.
  14. Interesting point about the expression pedal - I know some folk specifically have mentioned that they are turned off by units that oblige them to have an EP attached which they won't be using. Also agree that this could choke off sales of the HX Effects going forward - depending on the price point of course. Good question and also what it costs? If it's the anything like the £ equivalent of the $ price on ordep's post i.e. £749 that is almost double the price of a £399 Stomp and I can't see it flying off the shelf at that price point. I'm guesing folk may be willing to stump up maybe up to around £500, given it doesn't cost a lot more to add a couple of footswitches. But I'd certainly balk at much beyond that, particularly with a nearly 6 year old chipset and comments about running into DSP limitations after release 3.0. Be good to get your thoughts on how much extra you'd be comfortable with paying for the Stomp "Estate"?
  15. Doh! Not really that difficult to understand what a vaccination is and that it is not the same thing as test and trace, I would have thought?
  16. Well spotted and it's for real! Looks like NAMM 2021 has finally got interesting on the pedal front. In terms of design - they've sliced off the right edge where the volume knob previously was (the vol knob is on the back now) and the D & B buttons have been added to the left of the screen instead. AND then the other 4 stomp buttons on top. So in effect you've now got a Stomp with as many stomp buttons as HX Effects (and obviously the amp and cab sims which HX Effects doesn't have) in a package that is probably slightly smaller than the HX Effects. Interesting.
  17. "there will be live music, but not I think as we once knew it." As statements go, it is, but only for sheer pessimism on display.
  18. You willing to put a wager on this? Money can be held by a mod and winner can direct to a charity of their choosing. What date do you reckon pub gigs will start then? Name your date and whoever gets it closest wins.
  19. Funniest thing I've heard all day.
  20. Nope, straight up (for some pub gigs anyway). That's 16 weeks away. A lot can improve in that time, as crap as things seem right now. We have the best vaccination programme in Europe here in the UK, by some margin; and one of the best in the world.
  21. Hang in there matey. End of May.
  22. There's a BCers' axiom that basses tend to fill the number of stand spaces available to the owner. Don't make my schoolboy error of getting a 7 bass stand to replace my old 5 bass stand... ...and then not selling the 5 bass stand 😁
  23. Here you go...dartfords Cellulose Paint New Olympic White 400ml Spray:
  24. It seems to me that Oly White is in the eye of the beholder! PS nice bass btw @bassfan!
  25. Another thumbs up for UPS and Parcelforce from me.
