Blimey you've not found your desired Yammy bass having waited a whole fortnight? I had to wait a full 6 months before a white NE2 turned up and as for a (aka 'my') white 1025 forget it! 😄 I'll link you to the Yammy thread and definitely worth sticking a wanted ad up, if you've not done so already.

+1^^ exactly this. Nuances of tone get lost in the mix but the ball ache of complicated editing kinda sticks around! For me that's meant being prepared to invest time with multifx's (and hopefully getting a DAW recording interface finally sorted this year) but taking a decision last year to bin PC editing elsewhere (e.g. SA & certain TC pedals, Future Impact etc.). Others have got the head space to do it all and have my respect! We all have different priorities I guess.

Because they sell you stuff you don't need and then kindly buy it off you again. This keeps Parcelforce and others very happy.

But thanks, anyway, for the formula. What it does tell me is that a "3/4" EUB is actually an 85% EUB if we were going on scaled down volumes, but because they are effectively sticks, they're perhaps better thought of as 95% EUBs based on scale length. Lol! And the scale length of a "3/4" EUB is significantly closer to a full scale upright than a short scale bass (30") is to a standard 34" scale bass. Well I've learnt something new today! 😊

Well you've now piqued my interest(!) but I'm not sure about your formula... 3√(3/4) = 3*0.866 = 2.60 as your multiplicative factor? Scrap that! I think you meant 3√(3/4) i.e. cube root of 3/4 which makes better sense!

"3/4 size" is definitely a misnomer, isn't it, if full size is only a 6% bigger scale length!

Like a lot of gear addicts on BC, I've got through a ton of bass gear over the years. The oldest piece of bass kit I still have, which I've loved from the day I bought it 6.5 years ago and also from Guitar Guitar, is my Mesa M6 amp. I still can't recommend it highly enough.

Agreed - all of the models so far have been 41" give or take a bit! The scores on the door so far... Stagg EUB 41.5" Warwick approx. 40.9" MK Studio passive is 41" Yamaha SLB 200 is 40 3/4 " Eminence is 41" Average = 41" on the nose!

Scale length is traditionally quoted as nut to bridge (certainly for electric basses) and they do all seem to be coming in at around the 41" mark!

The pics might be deceiving me, but does the scale length of the basses vary? E.g. my Stagg EUB has a 41.5" scale length. How does that compare to the EUBs that you guys have?
