1. Joanne Shaw Taylor at a little album launch do at the Gibson Guitar Studios in London, this coming Wednesday.
2. Don't. You're just rubbing it in now!!!
3. This, and the rest of the One Step Beyond album. Oh my days, the memories! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRANzd9a6l4
4. Squier Vintage Modified 70's jazz £200; Ashdown Evo II MAG 300 head £60; Ashdown MAG 210 £60; Ashdown MAG 115 £75. All in under £400.
5. Hollowstar in October and Joanne Shaw Taylor in November.
6.
Wow this is brilliant!! I've added Fine Flow by The Entrance Band. Paz Lenchantin on bass. Can't wait to wade through the whole playlist. Plenty there I've never heard of before.
Love Paz, so had to add Grim Reaper Blues as well. Also a bit of Vulfpeck.
7. I have had this very recently. Drummer with no flair, questionable timing, no ability to improvise and no will to push himself technically. He was clearly holding us back so we decided to get rid. We have now got a drummer who is the polar opposite and has come in and learnt the 25+ songs for our next gig (tonight) within the space of 3 weeks. As others have said, there is an inevitability about it so probably best to make the decision now. Not an easy thing to do either. Best of luck.
8. Never played and not able to afford one but I think I would be very tempted by a Celinder jazz. Beautiful looking basses.
9. I always have a small towel as well in this weather plus a wrist band on my right wrist. Definitely going to try the banana's next weekend tho!
10. I have a Harley Benton standard series P which has been upgraded with a KiOgon wiring loom and Entwistle PBXN pickup which I may be looking to move on if you are interested. It's a good solid P bass with a really nice neck too.
11.
My fave band at 16 - The Specials:
Despite my obsession with The Smiths at 16, I had been a huge fan of The Specials since about the age of 11 and remain so now. Too young to see them live first time round I think my favourite ever gig has to be seeing them at Brixton during their reunion tour in 2009. Awesome.

Just bought a cracking PB-50 from Mark. Excellent comm's throughout and a really easy transaction. Top chap to deal with. Oh and the bass was really well packed. Hell, did that parcel take some getting in to!!! Thanks again Mark. Rich
13. The Smiths. The first album was released a couple of months after my 16th birthday and it was all I listened to for months on end. I didnt play bass then but probably plenty of 'air bass' pretending to be Andy Rourke!
14. I'll go for The Foo Fighters cover of Baker Street, purely cos I have just learnt it for my covers band. As good as the original? Probably not. But I like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO1qcWa6blQ
15. Wow. That Jaco and Toots track is beautiful. Love that.
16. Always loved this. Just learnt the Foo Fighters version for the rock covers band. Wasnt sure to start but I think it works.
17.
this is probably a stupid question but why don't you just have one bass detuned and play the standard tuned songs 2 frets higher up the neck?
Ha, I knew I was opening myself up to scrutiny!! Laziness is all. It's just how I have learned the songs and havent bothered to change it. I guess being relatively new to bass and gigging, the comfort factor is important as in I dont want to give myself anything else to think about. I will get round to making it easier for myself at some point!!
18. I have 2 basses with me for a gig purely because a couple of songs are tuned down a whole step and i dont want to faff retuning all strings between songs so I just swap basses. If all songs were standard tuning I would probably wouldnt bother with a back up. I have spare strings and cables as well but thats all.
19.
Longpigs - The Sun Is Often Out.
Splendid. One of my favourite albums of the 90's. Such an under-rated band.
