1. I will take that off your hands if I may. I will drop you a PM.
2. Hobbyist. Latecomer to the world of bass. Full time job and in a rock covers band that are just starting to gig. I love it and I dont need or even want it to be any more than it is.

5. SOLD. For sale is this excellent Soundcraft mixing desk. I will have to be honest and say that I do not know a huge amount about it as it is not my area of expertise but know that it has not seen a lot of use and is in very good full working condition. Bought for use by our band but our new singer has a smaller and more suitable desk which we are now using instead. This thing is pretty large so collection only really from Sudbury or Bury St Edmunds. May be able to travel to meet if required but within a sensible distance. Any questions, please ask and I will endeavor to get an answer. Cheers
6.
always standing up with the strap on. sounds a bit dodgy that.....but yes always practice as if its how you are going to play live because all your hand and arm mussels get used to the position. If you sit down more often than not then that becomes the comfort zone. At the gig there are plenty of distractions for all players no matter how experienced so you dont want to add more in.
Yep, this is pretty much exactly what I have been thinking since Saturday. Not really given it much thought before then...
7.
Can you not sit down at the gig..? A folding chair or drum throne..? If not, why not..? Just sayin'.
It's certainly a thought but I am not aware of too many bassists in rock bands that play sitting down (happy to be corrected tho) and to be honest I would feel a bit of a twat if I did!!
8. Having played my first proper pub gig at the weekend (rock covers) and had a few moments where my brain and my technique completely went missing i have been thinking about my practice time at home in preparation for rehearsals and gigs. Now, some of the mistakes from the weekend I can put down to first night nerves which is probably fair enough but i am now thinking that the fact that I do all my home practice sitting down rather than standing up (as I would be at rehearsals and gigs) is not helping. Simple question, for those that gig regularly, do you sit or stand when practicing at home??
9. So, first ever proper pub gig with the band last night. Was more nervous than I realised when it came to the crunch and the first set was littered with mistakes and brain-farts but as has been said so many times on here before, the audience dont really notice. Far more relaxed in the second set and thoroughly enjoyed it. The landlord was obviously happy as well and booked us back in for 3rd September for more of the same. Result.
10. Have you still got the maple neck? Would be interested in that if it were for sale....
11.
Are there any decent concert vids of The Smiths?
This one is pretty decent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxhQ6ay6il8
12. Another +1 for Hatful of Hollow as a great starting point. Much closer to the raw live sound of The Smiths than the sanitised overproduced debut album. The Queen is Dead and Meat is Murder are both great too. Enjoy.

Hello

Hi Lownote and welcome, from not a million miles away in Bury St Edmunds....
14. Monday morning price-drop. Now £180.
15. Downloaded. Very handy, thanks.
16. Summer of 69. It was on our set list for quite a while early on and then removed as we were all fed up to the back teeth with it. But, people like it and always sing along. And if the Foo Fighters can cover it at one of their gigs then who am I to argue...
