And the final modification is in place, a tort pickguard. The gold colored one was not bad but this is what I had in mind when I started working on it.
Blimey you're busy, sterling work ! - I'm still in awe of the fanned fretted EB-a-like you posted in the Gibson section.
Gutted - I was expecting a studio monitor with a 21" speaker in it
I wouldn't like to fall off this mid 'steve harris foot on monitor' mode.
It's not that long ago you would pay two grand for a monitor like that. Progress.
Too true. Wish the same could be said about 60's Ampeg B15's...

Fender Bassman 100t I've got 2 of these which is a bit OTT for my needs, so up for sale is the older and more used head. Not sure of age probably no more than 3 years old. Full Specs: http://www.fender.co...00t-120v-black/ IMHO: Brilliant amps, tone to die for - these go beyond what the classic 70's silver faced line did with the extra channel that carries some major filth and cleans up to warm sparkling slap friendly - if that's your thing. 100w not loud enough ? Think again, it's majorly loud. I went down this route having spent a frustrating time with an SVT classic - not being able to get anywhere near the tone/volume I wanted, these amps hit that spot without melting faces. The amp has been well used and It's had some issues which resulted in a return to Fender. It's had it's bias cpu board replaced, valves changed and some soldering work on another part of the main board. It's also been serviced by a local tech. But one issue remains (the amp has switchable wattage 100/25/Silent Record) that the 25w setting 'red plates' the valves. Easy option - don't use 25w, or just turn down. Everything taken into account you're still left with a perfectly giggable 100w beast, and I think a fair price reflects this. New rrp is circa £1400 I'm asking £650 collected. Trades - I'd rather sell the head directly but 'at a push' I may be interested in certain left handed basses or matching Fender bass cabs (old school 2x15 or Neo 410). No other amps sorry. Anyone interested is welcome to 'have a go' - I'm based near Chester. Amp for sale is top !

They're borderline wearable.... Whitesnake says medium - it is 33 years old !!! As for 'getting creative' I'm not a big fan of any of the bands so - I'd rather hand them over to anyone who cares !
-
Hi, I'm clearing out some wardrobes and came across some old tour t-shrts - very worn but maybe the kind of thing completists may want... Bon Jovi '88 New Jersey / Gangster - GONE ! Whitesnake - Come and get it tour '81 dates on rear - GONE ! Status Quo - World Tour '81 - rocket and hand - GONE !
-
Anyone got any idea what amps he was using around late '82 - for this performance he's got 2/3 stacked flight cased Marshall heads with an open metal grille (as opposed to the normal fabric weave). Always wondered... I'm lazily assuming they are some variant of a Superbass ?!!!
-
The 100T is plenty loud for my own uses, usually medium venues/large pubs up against guitarists 100w Marshall. I'm using 2 2x10s. Not had to crank it right up so far - beauty of the 100w is the ability to get the tone you want before deafening yourself.
-
Not got the 300, I use the 100T - brilliant amps and not nearly as back breaking as my old Ampegs !
-
Bought a pedal from Simon this week - arrived yesterday, all well and exactly as described. Trade with confidence guys ! A pleasure... Matthew
-
I'd say they're pretty rare but they'll gather dust in shops as they're more of a specialist item, so it may be worth hunting ?!!! Or chances are you may get a decent deal on someone selling one bundled with a preamp of some description.
-
...or you could hunt around for something like a used rack-able Ampeg SVT300 ? I've been down that route.

NPAVAD (New No Longer Prototype British Built All Valve Amp Day)
mxm replied to JPJ's topic in Amps and Cabs
Excellent. I've gone back to valve bruisers recently (Fender Bassman 100T's), but gigged a guitarist friends' UK hand built Gartone Marshall Super Bass 100w Clone - tweaked it briefly, and stood back in awe throughout the gig. It was love and the volume on tap was mental. If I didn't already have 2 of the Fenders' I'd be making my friend an offer. My only suggestions would be: minimising the size of the amp casing at all, so it fits on more modern bass cabs ? 2 channels, one clean and the other nuts ? Speakon connectors ?
