1. Hi, Whatta ya mean 'little set-up' ??!!! You tried lifting an ampeg svt300 up in a hurry ??!! Lol. Yes, the cab can handle 400w at 4/8 ohms, in this instance it was 300w (and a deafening 300w at 4 ohms). I used that particular set up for about 5 gigs last year (mainly pubs/clubs) with a 3 piece hendrix-style tribute. To be honest it was frighteningly aggressive fender pbass rock - it really did valves justice. I also did a few rehearsals with another band, and the ebs shone using a crown xls power amp. Eventually (5 gigs later) I bought an Ampeg SVT pre amp and the EBS was history!!! I occasionally do these mad things.... The Marshall 4x12 is an excellent bit of kit - whatever I've played throught it - it's always sounded excellent (GK's, SVT's Hartkes', Eden's, Line6's). Matthew

7. This has probably been asked before but here goes.... ...apart from Mr Sims, can anyone recommend or list anyone who offers retro-fit (on an existing neck) neck dot marker Leds - not the stick on variety !!! ?? ....I'm only wondering !!!
8. Finally decided to let it go, so anyone interested in this amazing piece of technology ? Comes with the older GK-2B pick-up for 4 / 5 / 6 stringers - currently attached to illustrated bass and GK cable ! Open to offers/swaps/part-ex's. More info or pics - PM me !
9. Very quickly....and in all honesty....I've got an SVT and when i really can't be arsed lugging it about I'll occasionally (depending on the style of music to be played) use my 24 quid Behringer BDI 21 (via power amp) and have never ceased to be impressed by the 'SVT-a-like' sound it makes !!!! I dare say the BDI 21 is a clone of a Sansamp....
10. Hi, Personally, special is again a good word to use to describe the experience. I never, ever thought I'd see the day !!!! Was marred slightly by the abrupt 10.30pm curfew - but to see the man, regardless of behaviour and appearance was pretty surreal !!! Band contained Cynthia, Vetta Stone (Slys Sis - as in Little Sister) and Rose's daughter. A few of the other faces looked familiar from later versions of the band - but I'm not sure on this one. To be fair they'd put together a great band, with slight rearrangments on some numbers - I thought Bassist was excellent without being too OTT or off on a tangent !
11. Just got back from seeing Sly, not often you see a legend !! Anyone know who his bass player is - was using a 5 string Carvin (i think) and Eden rig ??!!!
12. Guilty as charged.
13. That's a quality bass ! Being more of a knackered Fender user i'd be way too scared to gig something so nice !!!!
14. You're not alone. I personally gave up on many local/common stores stocking decent lefty gear a long time ago - but there always are exceptions to the rule. ...then I could go on about the complete lack of choice and specs offered by the big companies when they do produce left handed pieces, but I won't... What does amuse me is occasionally when 'interesting' left-handed instruments turn up, many sellers think they've got the right to place a really astronomical price on it due to rarity - yes it is rare, but you've also got a limited user/purchaser base (user as opposed to collector !). For the time being we'll just have to put up with it all !
