1. +1 for Shaggy and the SVT300 power amp - it's the business !
2. I'm 100% with you guys on this one, dross - i'd like to think it was some kind of midi'd keyboard transfer.
3. Just to add a +1 for the 15 traveller - 400w cab great for all sorts of situations. And another +1 for the 610HR, 1200w and totally practical !!! only selling mine as i'm mental and crossed over to the dark side (svt +8x10).
4. Have no idea why I've got these but they're off a Vauxhall Vectra/Cavalier circa 2000 - free to good home or happy to swap for a '62 Jazz (has to be sunburst) . Pics available just ask....
5.
Back on the chain gang - the pretenders Take these chains from my heart - Hank Williams (Take these) Chains - Judas Priest It should have been me - Gladys Knight & THe Pips
I'd love to play some 'Priest at a wedding - 'Painkiller' anyone ??!!!!!
6. I used to play through an alleged ex-Motorhead / Lemmy 1978 Marshall JMP100. In true rock god style I managed to destroy the drivers in an old Fender Bassman 2x15 midway through a gig with this set-up.
7.
The first (and last) wedding party I played at was a few years ago. It was guitar (me) and bass (a mate) - no drums or vocals. The bride's idea was that we would play, the lyrics would be up on an overhead projector, and everyone would sing. Er, ok. She requested "Satisfaction" and "Personal Jesus". Yes, that old cheery tune which everyone loves. We rounded out our four tune small set with a blues jam and "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)". 1. She left the lyric sheets behind. 2. Nobody sang, not even during "Satisfaction". 3. Almost everyone stood stone still. Lessons learned: 1. Trust nobody. 2. No drums or vocals? What were you thinking? 3. Don't play "Personal Jesus". 4. People love "Voodoo Chile".
Yes, Yes, Yes - last night I had to persuade the guitarist NOT to do Voodoo Chile !!! What is it with them ?
8. Just got back... ...playing Purple Haze during the set to a typical wedding crowd wasn't a great idea. Any other 'classics' to avoid ?....
9. I'm thinking British... ....Pino - makes sense and Norman would be a good choice ! Chris_b - is that a true story ??!! , sounds right for the era - MU issues ??!!!!
10. According to Ian MacLagan and a few other sources Rod, Ron and Kenney are likely to reform The Faces. Anyone got any ideas/suggestions who is fit to fill the role of Ronnie Lane ??!!! Rick Wills ? a sober Tetsu ? Bill Wyman (erm ! - see the Brit awards '93) ??
11.
That is a handsome cab, especially with the Ferrari badges. With the Dood's power amp and a decent pre would be a sucker-punch rig. I wish I had more money, space and a bigger car, there is so much great gear for sale at the moment. I'd love to hear it and play my lefties and your lefties through this.
Thanks ! I may be open to offers of decent lefty basses BTW - you don't need a bigger car for this cab - it'll sit sideways in a modern Fiesta !!!!
12.
is this still for sale? How much??
Hi - sorry this now sold - only got the MarkBass 6x10 left now.. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=22862 Ta !
13. Hi Clarky, Didn't realise there was another for sale around these parts - did a quick search and nothing ! I'd of thought this kind of cab would be snapped up pretty quickly. Anyway, all the best with your sale ! Matthew
Good luck, I've had one on this Forum for a while but no takers as yet It took warwickhunt a while to sell his high-end Tech SoundSytems 6x10 so it looks like 6x10's are not too easy to shift at the moment Again, best of luck!
14. Hi, I'm selling this... Official specs - http://www.markbass.it/products.php?lingua...t=2&vedi=26 Bought new 31.01.07 - great cab, bags of headroom, has been used with all sorts of amp heads - handles brilliantly - and it'll fit comfortably into a smaller car such as a Fiesta. It's basically a few inches taller than a standard 4x10. Ferrari badges have come off a damaged 348 Berlinetta, the other is on my Markbass 15 traveller! Selling only as I've just bought an 8x10 and need to fund an estate car !!! These usually retail about £1000 at Bass Gallery, Bass Centre and Electro Music. Any potential purchasers are more than welcome to come and try this cab out for themselves. £800 or offers - may be interested in px's such as a Gallien-Krueger 800rb or a decent left handed bass !
