  1. Highly recommend this fella. He's just started up again due to the Covid. OK, Brian is not the cheapest but he's in Glasgow so no 4-6 weeks delivery. There's also options, not just in colour. Want a USA P plate,he does them. Need a Fender Japan plate ,he does them too 🙂 https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_odkw=&_ssn=earlpilanz&_osacat=41424&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEFSXS%3AMESOI&_from=R40&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xbass.TRS0&_nkw=bass&_sacat=41424 PS Shortly to be adding Harley Benton PB-50 plates and Fender Japan 51 P-bass plates to the inventory 😎
  2. Send it back and hope the replacement is better. You've paid good money for it so deserve to get your money's worth.
  3. This fella cost me about £32. Paulowina body was £22 but the ebay seller fibbed about being in London and 5 days delivery. After 5 weeks I got fed up and filed a refund, body turned up from China the day after refund 🤐 Neck was £18 from here. Pickup is an Entwistle PBXN, bought as 2 bobbins here for £10. Varitone pot cost £4 to knock up. Bridge, knobs and scratchplate out the spares drawer. Finish is black ink and silver wax paste.
  4. Even if they were Roswells,You swapped ceramic for alnico. Good decision IMO 👍
  5. Screen grab from Roswell site.
  6. Course not. All it means is Roswell supply pickups to FMIC. ESP is another client. I can't remember if Fernandes were also listed. Tune definitely were one but they are owned by Roswell's parent company "WSC Music" so that's a given. Think maybe 8 companies were listed.
  7. Bill of ladings gave a port in California as arrival point.
  8. There a password protected area on the Roswell site for the items they supply FMIC. As for the deliveries.I was looking through bills of ladings ,every two weeks a shipment headed to Corona.
  9. Roswell build pickups for Fender. Weird thing is deliveries go straight to California not Mexico so where do they source their MIM pickups from ?
  10. Good move. I bought luggage scales from the £1 shop..
  11. WOW. Surprised I made it to 10 seconds in 😄 There's way too much of this mock outrage shite on the net. Hope Rich Tone does the right thing and tells KKR where to go 😎
  12. I ordered some parts from an ebay seller based in China start of Feb. Two weeks in they emailed saying to expect a delay, two weeks after that they emailed again saying there were further delays and I should think about cancelling. It was only string trees, bridge screws, nothing pressing so I said I'd hang fire until the due date 🙉 Every week I got the same email. "We appreciate your business but at this point it's unlikely the goods will arrive. If you can source them elsewhere we suggest you cancel your order and buy from there instead". Week passed the due date I took their advice 😃 Into the second week waiting on delivery from a UK seller 🤣
  13. Maybe not but it's probably the bass @ezbass was referring to.
  14. That'd been a Doug Wilkes bass from the early 80's.
  15. @Osiris Thanks Sid. Some folk think I'm daft but peace of mind is worth more to me than a few extra quid 😎
  16. I was looking for a short scale and Sid got in touch. Talk took a detour and ended with Sid buying a pair of Entwistle neodymium pickups I had spare 😀 No messin,no quibble just a done deal. A true Gent and I look forward to future dealings.
  17. Aye, a wee bit annoyed about that one myself. Heard nothing regarding The Pixies in August .
  18. Saturday night wiring loom marathon cancelled. Damn soldering iron gave up the ghost 😞

  19. Sound bit of reasoning 👍
  20. Aye, it definitely wasn't you in the YT video. Unless you've taken to using an American accent an sporting a crap tattoo 🙊
  21. Winsdor & Newton black ink then covered in silver leaf Rub & Buff wax. Boy in the YT video said to use teak oil to wipe away the wax. Bugger never let on how messy a job it was 😄
  22. First time I've used it Andy. Aye it's light and it's bloody soft too 😀 Only holes bored were the 4 neck screws and the bridge ground. Bridge, strap buttons and scratchplate I just put in by screwdriver 👍 On the strap it doesn't dive as much as I expected. A mate has a paulownia jazz body due some time next month, glad I've had this one for a test run.
  23. Very bored so used up some bits laying about the house. Freebie paulownia body, seller claimed to be in London and gave 5 day delivery time. I got a refund after 4 weeks of excuses. Turned up from China the next day. G4M neck bought from here £18 Entwistle PBXN. £10 from here, came in 2 halves with no covers or wire. Varitone pot. From spares drawer,£2.50 to build inc caps. Rest from spares box. Black ink and poor attempt at silver grain fill £10 Murder to get a decent photo. Very pleased with the action. Test fit showed it needed a shim, got it bang on 1st attempt 👍 6lbs and £30 all in 😎
  24. Sad thing about tress infected by the borer beetle is they get left to rot or used for firewood. The beetle goes for the bark so the wood below is fine. You can't transport infected tree until they get stripped and sprayed, folk don't want to pay for that hence the firewood option.
