1. That's brilliant. With them being 8 hours behind us the fella was probably shutting up shop,1630 his time. Aye top man yer Caleb
2. Couple of the fellas on the Washburn owners group say it was never sold in the USA but it's definitely early 80s Japan. They'd been in touch with seller for serials and more photos,it's an LP-40 or sometimes called a B-200 model One of them worked for Washburn at the time and says they're ultra rare,he's never played one though Want to ask if they can give a year Jon ? Might help add a piece to the Japanese Bass Building puzzle.
3. My ex boss told me about it. The fella's not that much of a music fan but reckoned it was a good show. Is the Glasgow lad still in it ?
4. Cheers Jono Will do. I need tae do a family potrait but it'll be split USA an the BXP branch Aye original case an yer right about the saddles. Bet ye scoff when folk mention Hi Mass bridges noo
5. I did try the Chord stand but was sorely disappointed and went with Flightcasewarehouse and their Spider racks. I did a review and listed my reasons why I preferred the Spider over the Chord. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/250757-spider-guitar-stands/ I'm using 6 Spider racks just now and have no fear of them falling apart. http://www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/industry/product.asp?item=spider-5-way-multi-guitar-stand-8404-2741
6. A wee bit more involved AT "Just email us at "][email protected] with your BassChat name and we’ll send you an individual code to put into your online checkout." Never used them myself yet but discounts and free postage are not to be sniffed at
7. There's no 7 string set available from Warwick in any colour range The fella AT was referring too on Seven String.Org was just stating a preference. Most folks get 6 string sets and add a guitar string. Bass Gear UK do D'Addario 6 string sets for £22 ( £21 if you give them your BC name )
8. Cheers Flat Eric. This fella's a " Line around the Head " model too from 84. I was having trouble ID'ing bits such as the bridge,it's different to the 3 Foundations then I saw your white Foundation. That's the bridge, big round saddles same as the T-20. If I'm going for the full set there's few still to go ,mainly from the 90's, No Axcelerator,B-Quad,TL,Sarzo or Unity as yet Then there's stuff like the Randy Jackson,Jeff Berlin Palladium and the Jack Daniels bass.Oh and I've no fretless Peaveys. It a strange thing I prefer my Foundations with the VFLs to my Super Ferrite Foundation, nothing to compare the Dyna with .
9. Thanks Lads. Chris you get first shout on it OK.
10. Yes very Tap Good things have settled down now,
11. I spotted this on Friday and at £100 knew it was a bargain. 84 Fury with slanted SF pickup and oddly a rosewood fretboard. I've only really seen these with maple before though I think Flat Eric might have one, fella has everything else Damn fine P bass with a slightly narrower neck than the T-20,infact I found very little difference between the two. Same story with my early 90's Fury.Does everything a P bass should just with that wee bit more kick. And I'd be kicking myself if I'd passed on it
12. Now that is tasteful And you've just reminded me about Status Halfs,I better get a set.
13. Dennis Dunaway Phil Lynot Pete Way Pete Agnew Bootsy Larry Graham Louis Johnson Fat Mike Duck Dunn I'm gonna cheat and say all the players on the Motown sessions.
14. Congratulations on your 3rd run Stephen. If that doesn't say you're doing something right I don't know what will
15. Learn something everyday, for some daft reason I never considered anyone on here as the seller. It's the staggering of the listings that struck me.Take the Shergold neck and body the other week, they finished about 3 days apart if you won the 1st it's neigh on certain you gotta keep bidding on the 2nd. Course you expect and should get the best price for the parts, hindsight here at 0230 tells me if you won the 1st it's probably only you bidding on the 2nd. Still there's something about the timing and wording just don't sit right with me,might be a quirk of my nature. Anyway you'll have no problem selling the pickups, somebody just bought a neck and body they'll fit perfect in.
16. I was watching a Hayman project last few days. Just body and neck " I've no other parts for this bass " says the seller. Auction just ended and guess what ? the seller suddenly has the pickups listed Still saying " I've no other parts " Chances are pots and wiring loom next week.
17. A fella in Cardonald , Glasgow is selling a gorgeous RMI Boomslang. Seems a legit seller, been selling on Gumtree over 3 years and has pedals and a entry bass for sale too. He's asking £230 with a hardcase, less without the case. That can't be right ? If you're in Glasgow and interested. http://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/boomslang-fretless-bass-sunburst/1125057479
18. I've had 25 years to get over it Back then with no internet and folks desperate for cash it probably happened quite often. I didn't do too badly, paid £500 for the Wal a couple of years before. SG got sold for £200 and I had a place to live
19. Was given a messed up Westone Concord after working on somebody's house.Still a bargain after the TLC needed. Doesn't make up for the Wal though. Sold 25 year back,£250 and a beat up SG JG model, leather scratchplate, one of 46 or 47. Value ? best not to think about it
20. Well done Planer. It's the right thing to do , at £20 somebody would just buy and abuse this . A happy ending.
21. Stevie if you can spare the time from the movie business you know where I am. Drop by anytime
22. " pulled the trigger on... something else " This could be interesting . How long before you spill the beans ?
