4. Yes.....years of following Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Testament and Anthrax.
5.
Is this something mainly affecting covers bands then?
Not mine.....gigs when we want them in our neck of the woods
6. I have one of these and they really are great little basses. The necks are very slim and playable. GLWTS
7.
If you do, I'll buy you a drink!
Well i reckon that may have clinched the deal P.S. but it's nothing to worry about i'm off the beer.....mind you fizzy water in Whitechapel £££ 😉
8. Hmmmm.....it takes me about 15 or even 20 minutes to get to the Whitechapel Rd so i might pop in
9. I'm interested in the manufacturing process on these.....do they make them then "Road Wear" them or is it just built into the production line? Happy NBD by the way.....looks nice
10. I am full of admiration for you! There is part of me honestly saying sod that for a lark. I would certainly beforehand try to find the best seated position or best stool to take along with you so you at least can find a comfortable playing position.
11. Mine is just an old bit of soft packing foam cut to the length of the bridge. Easily removed if need be and nearly as easily replaced.
12. I've recently started using a soft foam mute under the strings by the bridge on my Yamaha 5 string and i really like the slightly deadened sound. I only started using it as i found a spare piece of foam and thought i'd give it a try. I don't know untill i rehearse next how it will sound playing with the band but i'll give it a whirl. I just wondered if anyone else uses this kind of a mute for any particular songs or all the time on their basses? The bass currently has round wounds but i may try some flats.
13.
That said, wanting a P and needing a P are the same thing if you can't find anywhere to go
A sign of age i'm affraid lol 😨
14. I have done my last three gigs with two different shortscales and i will likely do my next gig with my 5 string.....in all reality they all make a sound that covers what i need however i still want a P and a Gibbo SG.....want and need 😐
15.
+1. I wouldn't schlep all the way from Lewisham to Chalk Farm for a pub gig! A frustrating time guaranteed for all! Sorry for the negativity, but you have to stop this from happening!
Lewisham on the DLR to Bank and then onto the Northern Line.....be there in a jiffy 😊
16. Yep always have to get the headphones on and listen.....re listen and jot down the correct lyrics. Which is nice if you like the songs you're learning
17. In a post apocalyptic winter that would be the first thing on the bonfire 🔥 Lol
18. That is the coolest Precision ever!
19. I thought the G&L first up sounded best and love the look of the Green Carvin 👍 Not a slap fan but a good comparison video. ☺
20. Any pics yet BA? I'm looking forward to seeing that finish on a non reverse. P.S. Sign of the Southern Cross is my favourite Mob Rules track.
21.
Mmm,well... Gas is soooo dangerous ! We already know that. TBH , if you're gigging or just recording sound cloud stuff etc.I would say you only need 2 ( 3 if you want a 5 or 6'er). You have your main bass which is either fretted or fretless. Then you get the sister of that bsss.then if you're lucky enough to get a 5/ 6 string of that, you should be well catered for. There is (yet another ) debate for some folk who have multi string basses, and that one seems like their only bass as they can play virtually anything on it.
I would add to this that i like short scales too.....so extra gas 😨
22. Good luck, hope you sort something out.
23. I bought a 5 string recently with a view that it would flex the little grey cells learning my way around it and pretty much do everything i need from a bass.....however i find myself drawn back to wanting a 4 Precision.....perhaps the keyword is "Wanting"
24. Most of my posts will never be "Good" as they're in Off Topic and it appears that is No Mans Land.
