  1. I struggle to achieve punch, because my rig is already filled with heft.
  2. Oh God! I've resisted this for over two weeks ... can feel myself weakening ...
  3. One jack plug goes in the hole on the side of the bass, and the other goes in the matching hole on the square metallic thing on top of the strange box with fabric on the front. If you can't remember when you get to the pub, you have my number. 😉
  4. I bought my very first one from @Dood well over 10 years ago, and I've had a few since then. When you list yours, please drop me a PM to make sure that I see them!

  6. I've always been a socket short of a ring main ...
  7. No, use of the earth pin has been gradually creeping in. I'm hardly an expert on this but I'm pretty sure that they changed the building code to make it a requirement. I seem to remember this cropping up on Mythbusters from time to time and that's 20 years ago.
  8. I should probably mention that this is a random house in California, rather than a genuine home studio in Harrow ...
  9. Better than it has any right to be: https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Samson-C01-Large-Diaphragm-Condenser-Microphone-/art-REC0004572-000?campaign=keyword/GB&ProgramUUID=UF_AqJartfQAAAFlJkByjI.G&gclid=CjwKCAiA6Y2QBhAtEiwAGHybPWJ74AGay9qrZrSs-5mURHGiXcH9B_VzVNUWH9j4KSDha8jDchcvaBoCDcIQAvD_BwE
  10. Know what you mean ... I only really notice it when I think about it. Most of the time it's so constant that my brain gives up concentrating on it, and complaining about it. 🙄
  11. I hope you're right and I'm wrong.
  12. A PRS Levy sounds an awful lot like an unofficial tax that the venue is charging you ... best bet is that it will disappear straight into the venue manager's pocket. I've taken part in many, many jam nights at many, many venues, even organised a few myself. Nobody has ever even mentioned PRS, because it's the venue's liability to pay it. Best estimate? This is a blatant scam.
  13. If that's a fully-functional and all-original Dalek, complete with Exterminator, then it might actually be worth £4k. I'm not a fan of the relic'd, re-issued Daleks and they rarely exterminate nearly as well.
  14. Is it him you're looking for?
  15. Hmmmm. Site's not doing well today, is it? Another duplicate post.
  16. I do well in hearing tests, too. Thing is, tinnitus isn't 'real'; it's literally in the mind. Where you can't get at it. 🤔

  18. While you're at it, some more basic information would be helpful. What does this bass weigh? What is the scale length? What is the string spacing? What do the control knobs do?
  19. Far Canal ... what size of venue are you playing to need that much volume? In my bands, we have low-volume backline and put everything through our PA. On stage (clubs and pubs) we can hear ourselves just fine and nobody gets to go deaf. It helps if you tilt back the 210 against the back wall, and stand as far forward from it as you can. Personally I'd lose the 115 immediately. YMMV
  20. And then of course there's combining a Digitech Drop with a 5-string bass, which is what I do and will be doing again tonight. Because our vocalist can't reach Radar Love in F# (original key) we play it in E. There's no way that I can get the feel of the original if I play that bassline in E, regardless of whether I choose the open E string or 5th fret on the B string, but the pedal does the job nicely.
  21. My solution was to stop trying to use Jazz basses. Sorry.
  22. There you go ... sorted. No need to thank me. 😉
