1.
What I have figured out though is that it's because of that independence shizzle,
For me, Clive, this is still the nub of the problem. Getting the settings right on the independence shizzle is a real art form.
2.
Well although this started out as a Precision Test, the real deal on this is the Precision pickup isn`t it. So I`m quite happy for non-Precision looking basses, so long as they`ve a Precision pickup that can be soloed/played passive.
Noooooooo!!! Tonewood alert! Tonewood alert!
3. But do check your weights very carefully first. The last thing you need is several dozen man-hours of work producing a bass with so much neck-dive as to be unplayable.
4. I'd suggest that you also check out the Gallien-Krueger MB500.
5. Most genre descriptions I can at least begin to get a handle on. I may struggle (mightily) to spot the difference between a hundred flavours of Heavy Metal, but I have some clue what Heavy Metal is, what Indie is, what Acid House is, and so on. But what the blankety-blank is "Alternative Rock"?

7. Depressingly po-faced ... I was hoping for something much more tongue-in-cheek. There were some nice barbs: "... learn to play a secondary instrument like keyboards or guitar ..." But I suspect that was down to the author's illiteracy, and she meant "second" rather than "secondary".
8. How heavy do/did they tend to be?
9. I really wouldn't go that route. The OTB is a one-trick pony ... it's great at what it does, but if that's not what you want then you could throw a lot of money at "the problem" and not really get anywhere. For me, it's not a problem at all, I love mine and (even since buying a Matamp GT100) I still gig with it quite frequently. I can't imagine putting a Sansamp in front of my OTB500, or a Catalinbread SFT, or even a Radial Bassbone. As for controlling boominess, you may well find the money better spent on an Auralex Gramma Pad (or cheaper copy of one).
10. To the curious: don't let your curiosity fool you into thinking it was a lot more juicy than it was in reality. Methinks he doth protest too much ...
11. October 2012 found us playing to a dog. Not even one man and a dog. The man stayed outside to have a fag. Luckily enough, this was one of our earliest gigs with a photographer (Bluejay) so we even have evidence: In the interests of fairness, I should point out that dog was almost as entertaining as we were. It picked up a beer mat from a low table, tossed it in the air, caught it, threw it away, chased it, worried it, destroyed it, then started all over ...
12. Something very odd about the arrangement of those tuners ...
13.
I am looking for a bass to keep in the car so I can practice when I get the chance and thought this could be ok.
Given that you're not even allowed to use your mobile while driving ...
14. Outstanding! Have a blast guys ...
15. Anyway, I bloody hate Jaco's style of bass playing. I actually bought a double album Best Of because so many people raved at me about how wonderful he was and how clever he was. I don't doubt they're right, but I've only ever played the album twice in ten years. Ultimately, all that really matters is: Do you actually like this music?
16. The bent bit at the end was for extracting Boy Scouts from horses' hooves IIRC. Or something.
17. Yo-ho-ho and a couple of commas.

19. Is he playing the inflatable beer can?
20.
Good grief..!! What's going on here then?

21. I have a very rare vintage trolley with uprated wheels and neodymium axles. It has a fair amount of playwear, but since it's a sought-after transitional model I could never get it re-fin'd.
22. When are you next playing?
23.
So I am sitting here reading through some of the posts on here and there always seem to be somebody complaining about something or another when there is a debate going on throwing there toys out of the pram if some one else says something that they don't agree with it is not just on basschat that this happens it is on other sites too I must admit I sit here and laugh to myself at the thought of some one getting all steamed up banging away on there keyboards in anger or complaining to mods about people like little school children when there really is nothing to complain about. So why take it so seriously it is only the internet I can understand getting upset if somebody is personally attacking you but 9 times out of 10 people just have no sense of humour and take it all to seriously.
I am absolutely appalled at this, and I feel you should take this back immediately. It is utterly astonishing that, in this day and age, it is possible for someone to write a sentence like that, and without apparently feeling any need for punctuation. Will no one think of the children? Even the Nazis could write better than that.
