1. So they are now looking for a backing vocalist?
2. I bought the Samson years ago as a cheap emergency back-up. Works absolutely fine, does exactly what it says on the box. Like Ed_S (above) I now have various high-quality units (Radial, Fishman, etc.) so I never use the Samson myself, but it has come in handy for helping out other band members and at live recordings on quite a few occasions. Sound? I've had no compliments about it, but then I've had no complaints either.
3. Bass ... that's the one with four strings, right?
4. Sad to relate, I suspect that you may be embarking on a (possibly) fruitless quest but one that will (probably) be very expensive. In my admittedly limited experience, things that sound really good when loud hardly ever sound really good when quiet, no matter how many electronic thingies you chuck at them. I'd suggest you concentrate on simply finding something that sounds really good when quiet.
5. Spotted in Heraklion, Crete: Combining the best in miniaturised speaker construction with all the advantages of an old beer crate, this one will really give the Gen 2 Barefaced range a run for their money. The enclosure is fully ported for maximum output, and itself comprises a large number of possible handles. The finish is hard-wearing and gig-proof, while the design requires no feet. 6. Not sure about these. I find a hammer works best.
7.
It matters not that everyone might not have an epiphany in a musical sense , as long as some do.
Send not to see for whom the Tubular Bells toll ... they toll for thee.
8. The last time West Ham beat Liverpool at Anfield the top of the Hit Parade (ask your Mum) was She Loves You. Until today. It's a sign, I tells ye, a sign!
9. You're setting the bar pretty low ...
10. Oops! No, that was the Keef / Beatles thread. Maybe we should merge 'em. Then lock the whole thing. Next up - Frank Sinatra, Magical Influential Voice or Probably A Paedo (And We Don't Want Any Of That Do We?).
11. Didn't this topic get locked and banned a while ago? If nor, why not?
12. Bloody hell! Are you going to do both Brighton and London? Now that's commitment ...
13. It was my daughter got me into playing bass ...
14. I'm going to stand outside on the pavement and make faces through the window ...
15. 1. Shockwave 2. such 3. Ordep 4. toneknob 5. Left foot 6. Sibob 7. Bluejay 8. Happy Jack
16. No way I can drive to Stafford to check this out, so an impossible question for you: Just how loud is it unamplified? And seeing as I'm a fair-minded bloke, an easy one: What does it weigh?
17. Agreed with a lot posted here. I sing lots of BVs, but I only sing lead if it doesn't interfere with the bass line. Practice is the key, and especially practising the bass line and the vocal separately before trying to bring them together. Also worth noting that some people have voices that a PA loves. Unfortunately that means that some don't. If, like me, you're in the 'wrong' camp then there's no need for despair. There are some very useful (if expensive) toys out there. I've been very impressed by the Mic Mechanic.
18. I'm planning to try this as soon as I migrate from bass to mouse on stage.
19. The Nitty Gritty Funk Soul Band
20. Speak for yourself!
21. Yadig? You get the picture? You don't drink, you don't smoke, what do you do? Shall I tell you about my life? Don't you think the joker laughs at you?
22. Strewth and gorblimey, not to mention jeepers creepers.
