1.
One of those questions will be, how does the money work, how and when do I get paid and how much can I expect to make each month?
I'm pretty sure that's three questions, Blue. Maybe four if you look at it just right.
2. Great playing but I really, REALLY hate those strings.
3. Don't mean to derail this thread, but surely any 2-channel power amp with the option to bridge the channels is ... erm ... a mono amp?
4. Yup, that's what got me into these basses in the first place ... they are ridiculously light.
5. Have you asked about the smell?
6. I'm guessing that the SB321 is a fretless - all four illustrations there are either fretless of lined fretless. This is my SB320: http://s1128.photobucket.com/user/h4ppyjack/library/Basses%20CURRENT/SGC%20Nanyo%20Bass%20Collection%20SB320%20CURRENT Puzzled by the reference to tarnished hardware. I've had five of these basses (to date) and most had the gold hardware ... don't remember seeing this before.
7. London is awash with public transport. There are very few venues which aren't served by a tube (subway) station, or at least a bus stop. We played a birthday party this afternoon at a pub in Stepney, in the old East End of town. Silvie and I drove there in the van with the PA and the rest of the band came by tube, clutching guitars and stuff.
8. I lasted 15 minutes before I switched off. It sounded like a decent covers band, and very little like the originals. Dave Swift's bass was indeed an Ibanez. He is a big fan and owns a number of those Musician basses. Good to see that he had recovered in time for that gig.
9. But were they experimental?
10. I tried looking for Fender bass models too, but neither Airfix nor Revell make any.
11.
You need the Time - money - and inclination all three lined up for me this year so i went for it.
And ... ahem ... the aptitude. I have all the craft skills of Frank Spencer (ask yer Mother) and, tempting as this course is, I fear it would be a complete waste of my money and Jon's patience.

13.
Available again - a lot of cab for £180.
That truly is. I used to have a pair of 210 XLTs and they were simply majestic.
14. It used to be Dawn Green ...

16. Well impressed with that bag - just ordered one.
17. There's no right & wrong, plenty of ways to do this. I picked up a bass for the first time on my 49th birthday. This worked brilliantly for me: http://stuartclayton.com/books/crash-course-bass/
18.
... I think it's something and nothing.
Well make up your mind - which?
19. Not sure I'll be in the mood to watch it. It all depends whether or not England manage to scrape past the footballing majesty of Malta ...
20. From my current advert for a rock'n'roll guitarist: "We're both experienced gigging musicians and we're aiming to gig at least once a month. We have excellent equipment, including PA and lightshow, WE are based in NW London (Kilburn and Harrow), we have our own rehearsal space in Harrow, and we'll be looking for gigs out towards the M25 to the NW of here. YOU have your own good equipment and reliable transport, you are free to rehearse once a week, and you have no problem with joining us in searching for venues and punting for gigs." ************************************************************************************ Text conversation: HIM: I love rockabilly, I live in Watford and would like to try out. ME: Have you got any YouTube or similar you can send us? HIM: I'm still learning to be honest but I will pick it up pretty quickly. I have just saved up and got a decent guitar and amp. ME: Fair enough, but we need someone at the same experience level as ourselves. HIM: OK, no problem. What level are you? Can I see your band on YouTube? ME: ??? Did you not look at the advert? HIM: Sorry, I did, but I'm out at the minute. GAME OVER INSERT NEW COIN
21. Bugger! I forgot to type "bass" ... that £114 was for a Mustang guitar. Sorry!
22. Not seen these before. Not convinced either ... for £114 you can get a Squier Mustang, which is probably a better bet!
23. So basses in the loft really do exist? Outstanding!
24. He still makes and sells these, in Detroit. The deluxe 3-string version costs $119 and comes as, essentially, a flat pack.
