1. Top basschatter and a great guy to deal with. Payment was quick with good communication. Pleasure to deal with.
2. Thank you Cameron pleasure doing business with you , quick payment and no hassle. Hope you enjoy mate. Fred.
3. I feel for the poor girl. If you look at her twitter account she's been tweeting about Level 42 for years. Hopefully something can be sorted.
4. Immaculate condition never gigged Bass Envelope Filter. Fantastic sound. MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter Pedal The MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter delivers classic analog envelope filter sounds in an easy-to-use and compact pedal designed specifically for bass. The MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter features separate Dry and Effect controls, letting you dial in the perfect mix of effected and direct signals, so you can bring the funk without losing the low end. It’s wide range of filter tones can be shaped with the Decay and Q controls, and a simple twist of the Sensitivity knob can tailor the pedal for your attack—as well as adjust for passive or active basses. The Bass Envelope Filter’s power supply circuitry is designed to withstand over-voltage or polarity mishaps, and its true-bypass switching preserves your tone in bypass mode. The MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter is packaged in a durable, lightweight, Phase 90-size aluminum housing for the ultimate in portability and pedalboard space-saving dimensions.
5.
His live album with Willie Weeks on bass is fantastic - and one of the best bass solos ever (IMHO)
Heard a story the solo was recorded on different nights and pasted together. Dunno how true that is.
6. Excellent condition Sadowsky preamp boxed , free postage. Manual can be downloaded on their site. The Sadowsky Outboard Bass Preamp/DI Pedal contains the same famous circuitry built into every Sadowsky bass. Housed in a small footpedal box for use on the floor, it measures just 4.5" x 4.5" x 2.25" and weighs 1.5 pounds. Just plug your bass into the box and then go from the box to your amp, and/or direct to the board. Controls consist of volume, treble boost and bass boost. The Preamp/DI Pedal is perfect for vintage basses where installation of an onboard preamp would affect the instrument's original condition and resale value. The Preamp/DI pedal is recommended for all passive basses, basses with active pickups, and instruments that have active electronics that can be bypassed. It also works great with all upright bass pickups.
7. Audiences are a funny lot. Did a charity auction gig on Saturday night for a child who had died of cancer. And when his mother was giving a speech about what it meant for her son to have this kindness and support, they talked VERY loudly the whole way through it and no amount of asking for quiet was listened to. In the end she just gave up and we turned the PA up full whack so they couldn't continue.
8. “The baby will talk when he talks, relax. It ain't like he knows the cure for cancer and just ain't spitting it out.” “That woman was sexy. . . . Out of your league? Son, let women figure out why they won't screw you. Don't do it for them.” “On Asking to Have the Candy Passed to Me During Schindler’s List “What do you want — the candy? They’re throwing people in the f***ing gas chamber, and you want a Skittles?” “There seem to be a lot of gay people there...Oh please, as if that's what I meant by that. Trust me, none of them would ever want to f*** you anyway. They're gay, not blind.” sh*t my dad says is a brillant laugh http://www.amazon.co.uk/sh*t-Dad-Says-Justin-Halpern/dp/0330533452
9. Love Phil even though he was a scummer. Genuine lovely bloke , great bassist and singer. Done a bit of songwriting as well I believe !!! Miss you Philo chuid eile i síocháin
10. Recently read Midge Ures autobiography and he says the only star he ever met who was an absolute asshole was Rodney. Said that Clapton and Elton John were there and they apologised for him.
11.
Nice, real nice... This thread is about me and my 7 string jazz.... Having just phoned fiatcoupe he tells me this thread was started prior to actualy contact by me to him regarding this... I made contact with him pretty much as soon as the auction ended, but alas i was too late and this thread was started... This is a bit of a dangerous precedent here... it seems that a fair chunk of band wagon jumping has occurred without people actually knowing the full facts. Luckily fiatcoupe is very reasonable and our chat (over the phone minutes ago) cleared up a few things in terms of timelines etc. The end result being we did indeed amicibly agree to not go through with the sale, (I am happy to provide text message transcripts of our convos if he is happy for me to disclose them) Nothing is a miss here, nothing sketchy was done, nothing underhanded and nothing that deserves me being called a scum bag... which is just childish in my opinion. I understand that it is not a popular decision to bail out of a sale, but fiatcoupe was fine with it and we talked out the situation and ended on a friendly basis. Please take note from this and dont witch hunt until both sides are heard. I have a decent reputation on here, and don't really want it destroyed over a misunderstanding. Thanks, Russ.
Well I've heard both sides and anybody that buys anything from you on here does so at their own risk. Anybody that reneges on a sale is a con man plain and simple. No luck can come from that bass. Good day sir and don't darken my pm box again.
12.
So.... I won this on eBay http://bit.ly/1kJt2vZ Just about to make the payment when the guy send me this sorry mate, I cannot sell this bass for that little, totally my mistake for leaving no reserve, but I cant sell for this little, its worth way too much. im on ...................... if you need to chat. Sorry mate I cannot sell this bass for that little Totally my mistake for no leaving a reserve price, I can t sell it for that little , it's worth way too much Contact me on this number if you need to chat... 2 min later Please agree to cancel this purchase.... What to do next?
His version seems different...... I hadn't seen any thread on here about it. The buyer and I discussed the matter and I was under the assumption it was resolved. If it isn't then the buyer should have voiced his opinion to me during our discussions, which were on a very friendly and amicable basis. My PM to you asked you to not voice these issues on the thread because it is not to do with the sale of the instrument. In the interest of clarify the bass sold on ebay for a very low price which I was not prepared to let it go for, I spoke to the buyer and he was happy to cease the transaction. I said I would be placing it on basschat and told him what price I would list it for, there were no bad words so I'm not sure why there are bad words now. Any issues not about the sale of this bass should not be listed here.
13.
I have already had this discussion with the said basschatter, we agreed to mutually not continue with the sale.
Really, is that why there's a two page thread in general discussion on it ? You pulled a fly one , do the right thing or your rep here is mud. P.s. And I don't appreciate sneaky pms making accusations.
14. R.i.p. To a gentle giant of Bass. I loved his music and his thought provoking views . "Iraq is not a war," he said from his home in Santa Monica, Calif. "It was never a war. It's an occupation. … [Not in Our Name] is a desperate attempt to reach people with beautiful music and try … to make them realize how important it is to have reverence for life. To see the preciousness of life and to recognize the injustices of the world and who caused them and are usually not held accountable for them."
