1. To be honest I think I generally agree with you. Also I have found the high C to be more useful than the low B... I guess I was just surprised at how straightforward it actually was switching from a 4 - I thought it'd take ages to get used to a non-4 and I let that put me off trying extended range basses in the past...
2.
I've only found the ebmm forum members to be overly touchy really and I suspect that goes for any forum for a specific brand of anything? I must admit ive never seen a weak G on one which woukd be odd if its anything other than some form of eq thing, not necessarily the users fault as it could just be a compatability issue or something, I'm still struggling to get what I want from my Jazz but I know its not a faulty bass.
Stick with the Jazz... It'll come good.
3.
Lucky you Dazed! That P bass looks amazing Yes, I agree completely that these Limelights somehow "feel" worn in They are just so comfortable to play I don't quite know how Mark manages to get that worn-in feel & finish, but he's got it just right I'll hopefully be ordering one shortly My trouble is, I can't decide what colour to go for I love the '63 Fiesta Red (my YOB) But I have a rather nice Squier, in that colour I really want a maple fretboard, but they didn't do one in '63.... One minute, I want slightly yellowing Olympic White..... The next I fancy Burgundy Mist... What should I do? - and before anyone suggests it - I can't have more than one I already have too many basses, and am flogging my MM to make way for a Limelight Oh the agony of choice PS. I once owned an early 70's P - and I found the neck way too chunky and was put off Fenders for a very long time - now I love them..... with renewed enthusiasm! 4. How come the bass doc is out?
5. Hi - here is a link to the Aguilar page. The hum cancelling ones use a split coiling system that should be easily identifiable http://www.aguilaramp.com/pickups_preamps.htm
6. Thanks a lot for your help... Christ I really should have looked into this before buying the damn pedal. I stupidly thought that they would come with EU/UK/US parts as standard.
7. Here we are... 8. Hi there - can I ask which Aguilar pickups have been installed please? The 60s, 70s or hum cancelling ones? Cheers
9. Anyone know whether this power supply would work? http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-100-240V-Power-Supply-Adapter/dp/B00AY9RY3S
10. I just bought a Marbass compressore and need to buy a UK power supply - I know it needs a 12v dc power supply but was wondering if anyone knows what the 2A, 3A and 6A stuff refers too?
11. I've been playing electric bass for 17 years now and only just bought my first non-4 string (a 6er) this past Friday. I've played around with 5 and 6 string basses before but, until now, I've never felt happy/confident enough to actually buy one. I must say I feel I've been a bit stupid and have been missing out massively! While I've been practising a fair bit over the last couple of days, the crossover hasn't been nearly as difficult to overcome as I feared! For anybody who has or is experiencing the same kinds of doubts as I was having, I'd suggest just going for it! I wish I'd switched years ago!
12. Really nice purchase!
First impressions? Always liked these, probably not for me but had a bit of a moment when one appeared here for sale recently.
This is probably the one that appeared They're so, so rare and crazy difficult to get hold of... I'm loving it so far
14. I've finally started using an EBow that I've had lying about for a year or so and as a result I think I now need a compressor to stop the signal getting too loud and out of control when blending it with some finger picked loops... Mind you, this could be caused by my lack of playing/practise time with the EBow?!?!
15. WOW!!! You'll regret letting this go man. Absolutely stunning bass.
16. To be fair this is very, very well priced. Somebody will be getting a bargain!

My newly acquired 6-string Fender Jazz Bass...
19.
Thanks for that Is that a hercules one as well? I think I've got one of those in the depths of the cupboard somewhere, I'll dig it out and see if it fits.
Yeah it's a Hercules - here we are... 20.
I didn't notice that, because I'm middle-class...
Cheers gents... I'm running a little low though - now I've got the bass situation sorted, I'd better get a couple of new bottles in - they're a lot easier to smuggle past the wife!
21.
I only found out these even existed a couple of weeks back... how does it play / sound? Also, as a side note... does that fit in your stand properly? I've got a K&M stand that holds the basses from the neck that isnt wide enough for six string necks, also the mini hercules one I have has the upturns at the front of the feet at just the wrong angle for my wal as its right on one of the knobs. I could do with a suitable stand...
Yeah it doesn't fit in that other stand properly. Thankfully, I actually got a new stand, a double one to take the 4 and 6 stringers - it fits alright in this stand - check it out... 22. New bass day 2 of 2: It has just arrived... here is my 2009 model Fender American Steve Bailey 6-string Jazz Bass that I purchased from Vilem (william64). I've never bought a signature bass before, bit of a pet hate to be honest, but this is the only 6-string extended range bass that Fender make so I've been looking out for one since 2012. I can't wait to get started on this bass...

I bought a Fender Jazz Bass Steve Bailey 6-string from Vilem. Great communication and photographs of the packing process sent to me throughout... really incredibly well packed - it took me 20 minutes to get to the bass. Highly recommended and would 100% deal with again - top man.
24. New (reunited) bass day 1 of 2: Here is my 2013 model Fender American Standard Jazz Bass that I originally bought brand new back in December 2013 and having only really used it as a studio bass, I naively chose to sell it on in October 2014. Thankfully Nick (Old Horse Murphy) contacted me earlier this month and very kindly offered me first refusal to buy it back. I didn't hesitate, it's a superb bass and I'm extremely pleased to have it back... My second acquisition is due later on today... I'm quite excited
25. I bought a Markbass Compressore in the end - waiting for it to arrive now... I'll have a good play around but I've been experimenting with using light finger plucking while also using an EBow so I feel like I definitely need some sort of compressor/limiter to prevent the EBow sounds overbearing the finger plucked loops... only time will tell once it's here
