  1. Not a multi-instrumentalist but a percussionist. I'd say I have been pretty wowed by a few performances on percussion only. Young Musician Of The Year is a pretty good place to see some incredible talent. Of course Evelyn Glennie I'd say is a particularly well known name in percussion.
  2. Furlong, the dude that played John Connor in Terminator 2.
  3. I'm a long time user of a huge array of D'Addario products. I use them every day for long hours sometimes. For the most part, I have noted a failure rate which is minuscule in the grand scheme of things. When I have had a problem, D'Addario's customer service has been exemplary - for years. That's pretty awesome considering they don't just make strings. They have a wide customer base to answer to and still mange to help folk with a superb quick turn around. Nothing but good to say about @D'Addario UK And yes, in terms of disclosure, I do endorse D'Addario. I am (proudly) on the artist roster, but I wouldn't have accepted if I couldn't rely on them for my business needs. So, Thank you Adam and co, you are brilliant, give yaselves a pat on the back! Now, I should really get on with writing this new album.. lol.. D'Addario don't do any anti-procrastination products!!
  4. Was it the same guy who stood next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand?
  5. A fretless 5 you say? *looks hopeful*
  6. RW on Natural I think is my one of favourite combos. Looks really good!
  7. Some tasty P basses on BC at the moment! Very nice!
  8. Will be listening to for sure!
  9. I can't be sure, but if it's the same clamp that I have for my wall hangers, then no, a 6 string bass headstock won't fit, even my narrow 6er doesn't. I've always just used the triangle floor types that support the back of the instrument instead so I don't buy something and find it won't fit my 6's and 7's.
  10. No, I left after the first 4 bars lol lol Joking aside, I'd probably watch them even if it wasn't my bag entirely, but you are right, it's not limited to weekend warrior down the Dog & Duck.
  11. Very true. Or the venue doesn't know how to put on bands. They tend to be the rubbish payers too because they can't understand why no one comes to see the bands. Then blame the bands.
  12. I was about to post something similar. Yup, I have certainly seen bands that although played very well, have no clue about stage craft. There's a difference between playing great music and putting on a great show. (Which of course includes choosing material that actually excites your audience rather than just you) *You as in musicians in general, not you specifically HJ
  13. Our very own @obbm makes them too
  14. EY! Flanker! Wow, good to see ya chap!
  15. @D'Addario UK tagged for good measure.
  16. Or if you are a bit old school, then here's a PDF with string gauges and tensions too:
  17. Here's a superb tool for deciding the ideal string gauges for a given tuning! @daddario_uk http://www.daddario.com/DAstringtensionguide.Page?sid=304dc307-655e-4790-915e-4d4a3818ad6c
  18. Mine is slow loading pages but typing is ok. Safari on Macbook Pro.
  19. Definitely check out my video as it could offer an alternative. If I think of anything else I'll drop you a line, but let's face it, when the P2 eventually appears (are they available yet? pre-order on G4M) 40 quid is nothing to test out a theory really. Good luck and keep me posted.
  20. This is awesome guys! - No rush as it's gonna take me a bit of time to get some other stuff out the way and set up my space to shoot some video again. Though I really don't wanna have to use the same set up as last time, I really want to buy a decent camera (with the money I don't have!)
  21. Good question. 12" would seem logical but I'd really want to try the 15" version. The three way model slips outside of an agreeable weight limit. The 15" 2 way version comes in at around 25Kg which is do-able for an all-in-one meaning that all of the backline can just stay at home. Also benefiting from feeding in keys (HPF'd) and vocals for a bit of spread at the back of the stage. I would dearly love a pair of Barefaced FR800's, they'd be amazing and would replace my BBII's. The Yamaha does have a pair of inputs and the onboard DSP, accessible from the back panel could possibly be a big thumbs up. Oh and the angled cabinet for monitor use is a plus.. yes I do have a stand here for angling cabinets upwards, but I have so many silly fiddly things to deal with on stage already it's wasting time and patience. Yup, for some gigs, I wanna turn up with my Helix, Monitor(s) and a box of leads.. or less ha ha!
  22. I spotted the announcements at Frankfurt Messe via YouTube but the products have been up on the Yamaha website for a while, so unsure of the exact release date.
  23. News appears to be circulating that actor Verne Troyer has died. :(

That man had a BIG screen presence.

      He'll be missed.
