  1. To paraphrase a recent comment on another fs thread - people fall over themselves to part with £250 for a Squier and basses like this sit here. This is peanuts for an almost certainly excellent instrument. The excellent preamp alone is worth a good chunk! Glwts
  2. I recently got one of these and it's brilliant. There should be far more love for Laney - they make excellent bass gear! I suspect the name just isn't seen as fashionable. I find this pre better than others at twice the price. Glwts
  3. Rather clichéd but the humble Bass Soul Food always makes me smile when I use it. I've bought and sold them multiple times in the past and have decided that I'm going to intentionally keep my current unit, whether it lives on one of my boards or otherwise. It may lack 'heft' at living room volumes but comes into its own on stage. Commendations to the Boss BB-1X too; I recently picked one up for peanuts and it's great! I don't understand Boss' sales spiel about it and I'm not sure it has a clear identity but it does the job at gig volume!
  4. This seems like an insanely good deal! If I was after a 34" fiver I'd snap this up. Glwts

  7. For sale is this lovely ACG Recurve recently acquired from here. I bought it as a backup whilst waiting on some orders and have enjoyed it. Specs are here: https://acguitars.co.uk/project/0284recurve4/ There are really no noticeable dings or scratches. Many thanks to Paul for his photos. I've set her up and changed the strings for Super Brights nickel 45s. Looking for what I paid for her which I think was a cracking deal - no offers on this one thanks. No instrument trades thanks. I am after a TC Shaker Mini and a tiny footprint OC2 clone and could also be tempted by a juicy chorus or comp. Collection welcome (will drive a bit for fuel) or happy to ship at buyer's risk, cost and organising). Cheers, Tobie

  10. I really don't need any more compressors but I want this 😭
  11. Recently got hold of a BB-1X and it really does it for me. I couldn't tell you why exactly, it's just one of those gig-volume 'special sauce' jobs. I hope whoever pulls the trigger on this feels the same way! Glwts

  14. Cheers all - good to hear that durability seems better than it first appears. Will check out the Protec too.
  15. Thanks NJ. I suspect that a short scale Mustang fitting snugly counts out medium scale basses unfortunately. Heavy duty with neck cradle is a must for me as must handle the road and lots of gigging. Cheers, Tobie
  16. I went for this deal recently too. Very impressive indeed. One thing to consider is that it can only accommodate slim power supplies - I'm using it with a Voodoo X8, just attached with dual lock. Really tough case and good-sized and designed board and the extra storage in the base of the case is great for leads etc. (leads with UK plugs won't fit).
  17. Anyone found quality single or double gig bags with neck cradles that properly fit medium scale basses?
  18. I bought a Mono M80 recently and I'm not very impressed with it. It's not as solid as I expected, there are plastic strap clips, the neck cradle is too soft, the handle doesn't feel as stout as I'd like and it's not the most comfortable to carry on the back. Storage is well designed and plentiful and I bought the Tick bag 2.0 with it to expand further. I moved on a Fusion Urban when times were tight and sorely regret it. That was a brilliant bit of kit; no corners cut at all and just so reassuringly tough. Storage was excellent too although the option to expand storage in a similar way to the Tick for the Mono is far more expensive. The Fusions seem to be hard to come by these days. Interested to hear other views/comparisons/preferences.
